Did I just read correctly that Del Val just hired Bill Zwaan as HC? If so, what a great hire for DV. Widener misses the boat again....

I am excited to return to FDU's campus next week (9/28) as FDU celebrates 50 years of football. Will be good to see some old familiar faces!

Delaware's 3A HS Football State Final will be Smyrna against Dover on December 10. Lots of Wesley ties on both coaching staffs. That I know of: for Smyrna you have Mike Judy and Chris Sfamurri (former Wesley OL coach). For Dover you have Chip Knapp (former Wesley OC and HC), and Alex Kemp (former Wesley WR).
If I am correct, Sean Greene and WDEL will be on the call for that game as well.

I am convinced that DelVal's run of dominance has dried this collective board up more than the cumulative issues of death, sickness, divorce (she had a good lawyer and you lost permanent access to the internet as a result:), bankruptcy (see divorce:), loss of sports appetite, incarceration, witness protection program and maturity (substituting crap like art museums and Shakespeare)!!
Go Aggies!! Next year.................the Aggies start filling up the other hand's fingers with consecutive MAC Championship rings!!

Quote from: FANOFD3 on October 18, 2021, 11:18:52 AMI guarantee you he thinks he's qualified....Quote from: bman on October 18, 2021, 10:26:59 AMQuote from: jmcozenlaw on October 17, 2021, 06:57:49 PMQuote from: RowanPhan on October 16, 2021, 11:57:01 PM
I watched the majority of the Salisbury/Rowan game today. Rowan hung in there for awhile, but the better team won. Rowan is 0-5 for the first time in decades. On to Homecoming next week.
A little over a month ago, I watched DelVal destroy Kean, 57-6 (and it could have been much worse). Kean rushed the ball 23 times for -4 yards and threw it 27 times for 60 yards.
I saw the final score of the Kean vs. Rowan game and my jaw hit the ground. How did THAT happen and what the heck has happened to the Rowan program?
If Rowan, Montclair or CNU don't start drastically improving their programs, with Frostburg and Wesley gone.........Salisbury might just dominate this conference, for as long as they are a part of it (little rumor, with not enough substance to post here at this point).
I was wondering the same thing...good lord, how the mighty have fallen...
Perhaps Keeler will come back to win a title and close unfinished business, now that he has climbed the FCS mountain again, with nothing more to prove...
Maybe he takes the USC job.

Quote from: JT2 on September 16, 2021, 04:48:35 PMIt would be highly unlikely that Widener would leave the MAC. Its mostly comprised of Eastern PA teams or teams relatively nearby...Quote from: RowanPhan on September 16, 2021, 12:51:37 PMQuote from: FANOFD3 on September 15, 2021, 04:09:33 PMWidener and/or FDU would be perfect for the NJAC. Any chance Richard Stockton gets a team? Would be nice for them to add at least one more school.
MAC keep on adding teams, while the NJAC just sitting around like, let us have Stevenson and/or Widener and we can be happy. Or can New Jersey City, Ramapo just add football. I think it's time to look at Newport News Apprentice, wondering if NIL will allow them become full member.
Ramapo had some recruiting violations in the early 1990's. School just shut the whole program down. Shame. They had decent teams in the late 80's, early 90's. The make up the Ramapo college admin/board leads me to believe, that hell would freeze over before re-starting football would be considered.
For NJCU, I think it was an expense that the school no longer wanted to have... that and all the sub .500 seasons.
Quote from: Pat Coleman on September 16, 2021, 11:44:29 AMWell I hope there is intent Pat...otherwise, they will have to bring out their magic dart board again!😆
There is intent behind the schedule but I don't know what the details are.

Any insights on the Stevenson game?
Johns Hopkins controlled the game from start to finish for the clips I watched. I tuned out after the Johns Hopkins 3 qtr td. I think Stevenson can eliminate the TOs, they can get a good amount of points on the board. Defensively have to be better overall to get to the playoffs, but Johns Hopkins was a tough OOC opponent to start the season. The can compete to win the conference, but that most likely will depend on that early wk 3 matchup against Del Val. Nevertheless, I think they have to focus on RPI, who came back to beat Montclair State after Montclair State scored 3 defensive touchdowns, but couldn't do anything offensively against RPI.

I was hoping to watch the entire game in the den, but the wife wasn't getting the hint at the advanced notice given starting on Wednesday. I did catch the rest of the game upstairs at the dinner table.
Bubble screens were as effective as running plays for Widener. Never big yardage, but kept the sticks moving. In the end, Widener QB was also more accurate too.
I'm seeing Rowan at 5-4 this year... unless more playmakers haven't made themselves known yet.
I caught about half of the game...
Neither team looks like they are going to be conference contenders...
Hope all is well JT
Hey Bman,
Things are going well. Austin started kindergarten, and is a yellow belt in karate. I gotta shed those COVID lbs I packed on. Hope all is well with your family.
