Quote from: Captain_Joe08 on March 15, 2025, 12:04:49 PMAfter needing the night to gather my thoughts I have to say this:

As you all know I am a WLC alum who saw many years where the Warriors struggled to compete (back to back 5 win years my third and fourth year there) and the slow rebuild back to relevance in the NACC. Going 4 straight years as regular season NACC champs the last few years was a sign of the rebuild was complete and the foundation was set for years to come. This season cemented that in many ways.

For WLC, this was a historic season. Broke the record for most wins (27), 29 straight home wins, Best winning % (.874), beating the highest ranked opponent in history (#2) and many more. It sucks that it had to end yesterday especially in a game that was for the taking until the very end. These Warriors never gave up when they got down big throughout the season. This senior/graduate class set many records personally and will live forever in WLC MBB lore. Next year will be a definite step back but with all the players that saw time throughout the year, the experience will hopefully drive them to continue the run of success in the NACC.

Well said!

Quote from: Captain_Joe08 on March 08, 2025, 10:24:58 PMFirst time since 2016 that an NACC team is in the Sweet 16. I am ecstatic.

If memory serves correctly, 2016 was the year that Benedictine IL got all the way to the final before losing big to St. Thomas-MN.

The year Whitewater won the final was 2005-Kim Fruit was on that squad and per Warhawk all time records site through the completion of the 2023 season, she still holds the indviidual record for highest career hitting percentage (.363).
