Quote from: pradierguy on March 06, 2026, 08:04:16 AMMount picks up a local recruit with Jeremiah Thomas from nearby West Branch. While undersized, he was a dynamic playmaker over the years for West Branch. I will be interested to see where he lands positionally. Assuming he could be a Tim Kennedy-esque Slot and KR guy.

From the press release:

Jeremiah Thomas leaves West Branch as one of the most accomplished players in program history. During his career, Thomas earned First Team All-Ohio honors at two different positions, quarterback and wide receiver, and was named the Northeast Inland District Offensive Player of the Year twice. He was also selected to the WKBN Big 22 Team, recognizing him as one of the top high school football players in the Mahoning Valley. Thomas also etched his name into the West Branch record books, setting the school record with 241 receiving yards in a single game, while tying program records with 15 receptions and four receiving touchdowns in a game.

Here's and interview I found on Jeremiah:  https://youtu.be/E5c2F7n-S-E?si=uhMddWPoMlTpRIXj

Please take this discussion to the NCAC board.  JCU topics are no longer welcome here. 🤣🤣🤣

Quote from: Patrick Coleman on January 20, 2026, 04:36:48 PMIn instances like this, there's probably an interview with the university president and key trustees. Since that hire is a promotion from within, though, that makes it interesting.

I like to think of AD Brian Polian asking an interview question, then scurrying around to the other side of the desk and responding as Coach Brian Polian, for an hour or so.

Wearing at Tuxedo like in Stepbrothers.

the all-time great Jordan Lynch of Northern Illinois makes the CFBHOF, but Nate Kmic and Bill Borchert are on the outside looking in...makes perfect sense

Lynch was 3rd in the Heisman voting and took a mid-major team to the Orange Bowl. Dude was a beast as a dual threat QB. He had a great college career. No need to try to diminish him just cuz your guys didn't get in yet.

Literally all of the finalists had great college careers and were "beasts". But the all time, all division rushing leader should be a no doubter

Former all time, all division rushing leader unfortunately.

Covid asterisk

Both Kmic and mcLaughlin (current rushing record holder) both played in the same number of games

Seven of those games were during the COVID season and eligibility free.  If Kmic had seven extra games, he'd probably be knocking on the door of 10k yards

Yes, but with Kmic playing in so many playoff games, I think what he was saying is they had the same number of games to reach their rushing totals.

Both played in 56 Career College FB Games (Kmic over 4 years and McLaughlin over 5).

Kmic:  1,189 Rushes, 8,074 Yards, 6.8 YPR, 125 TDs
McLaughlin:  1,250 Rushes, 8,166 Yards, 5.63 YPR, 75 TDs

Who the hell is Dorian Grant? I hope he's half as good as Davion Grant was.  ;D

Maybe he was thinking of Dorian Gray?

I have no insider information, but I could see Coach Dartt taking over the OC position moving forward.  Just a gut feeling.  They'll still need a QB Coach.
