Quote from: Pat Coleman on April 15, 2025, 05:09:52 PMI am sure they spent way less than one FTE salary on the graphics.

In terms of like, a check they had to cut to someone? Maybe.

But partnering with an agency plus "extensive research and collaboration" means lots of people in lots of meetings, exchanging lots of emails, and that stuff has a cost to it.

As an alum, I remember receiving emails last year asking me which new logo design I liked based on a few options.  They were all very similar.

Quote from: SPECIAL TEAMS STARTER on February 27, 2025, 01:52:12 PMthat, and the #2 spot in the OAC (nearly a guaranteed playoff spot) being wide open had to be intriguing.  If Etta, Berg, BW, ONU, etc are all racing for that spot, it'd be hard to pick anyone but Etta

D3fan is right on and to my dissappointment being an ONU alum I think we can count ONU out of the race. They hired an outstanding coach and staff but the administration is just too reluctant to spend or raise any funds for athletic facilitiy improvements. Nothing has been done to the 18,000 sqquare ft. sports center in over 30 years. Compare that to Musky's 120,000 Sq. ft. Bullock Health & Wellness Center and Berg's new 110,000 Sq. ft. Athletics & Health Center and that really puts ONU coaches behind the eight ball when they are trying to recruit athletes to compete in the OAC. It's gotten so bad that they don't even want to maintain buildings used for general offices and academics such as Hill Memorial. I'm a frustrated Polar Bear. :-\

after seeing what JCU and Berg are building, what Muskie built, etc...I'm concerned that Mount Union is getting passed by in the facility game, Gulling might just not cut it any longer.  If other OAC schools are putting in 50-60 yard indoor fields, Mount should have a full length indoor facility.  The Capers Football Center is great for coaching/team meetings/film but I think it's time for the Sirianni-Garcon-Harter Indoor Athletic Facility to be built.  It's an arms race, and Mount Union cannot lose

Maybe they can get Coach Campbell to kick in as well.

Wow- an easy guy to root for. Just read a bit about his family. Two brothers coaching (one at D 3 W&J) and his dad coached. Nick paid his dues as well, moving up the ranks.
I'm sure you all know this stuff, interesting to an outsider though.

His brother Mike was a classmate of mine. Super guy on and off the field.

Quote from: D3fanboy on January 28, 2025, 08:24:17 AMcongrats to former Mount LB Matt Rees on being named Head Coach at his alma mater, Dover.  Interesting to note that one of Mount's current assistant coaches was a finalist for the job as well, a really tall assistant

Kyle Miller?

Quote from: Dr. Acula on January 21, 2025, 09:10:22 AMIt'd definitely be interesting.  I wonder if/when the athletes become employees of the schools it will be public as it is (or used to be at least) for all state employees?  There used to be a database where you could look up state employees, teachers, etc.  Basically anyone funded by tax dollars.  I showed it to one of my buddies that worked at OSU and he texted me the next day telling me he spent his entire day at work looking up what other people at OSU made.

Keep in mind the schools are not actually paying these players. They are getting paid by outside organizations for the value of their "name image and likeness" for promotional purposes

for now.  Revenue sharing is coming very, very soon

lets hope that the professionalism of the top level of college sports doesnt leak all the way down to D3.  but I'm not hopeful

I spoke with a College coach the other day when he was on campus on a recruiting trip.  He said the reason these kids are getting massive deals right now is the "Collectives" have until this spring to spend their war chest of riches because the revenue sharing changes coming this year.

Quote from: D3fanboy on January 21, 2025, 12:06:50 PMin transfer news, Mount picks up a CB from Trine.  Konstantine (Kosta) Thrasivoulou is North Ridgeville native and multi-year starter for Trine with 4 career INT.

I just wish Joe Tait was still around to call this young man's name.

We've got a big greek community in my area.  This year our starting Right Guards name was:  Mihail Aivatoglou

I think Colleges should have to publish their NIL payments like the Pro Sports do with Salaries.  We could really see who is putting out the $$$$.

Four Time OAC Champion
Two Time National Champion
1997 Gagliardi Trophy Winner
Total Passing Yards: 14,482

Total Offense: 15,308

Quote from: Pat Coleman on January 14, 2025, 11:42:05 AMIf he played in four or fewer regular season games, all of them in the first half of the season, and ended the season injured and unable to play or practice, then he would generally be able to get a medical hardship season of eligibility.

He only has Stats listed for Ferrum, BW and Wilmington Games (1st five games of the season).  Theoretically, he could apply for a medical hardship.

"People" must think Mount will be OK at QB with all these WR Transfers coming.
