I'm sure the NCAA is hoping the same thing. CMS dropped to 43, so they have a long way to go. A sweep against CLU and sweeping the SCIAC might be enough to bump them to the top 20. PP could possibly have the same type of run against Oxy and the SCIAC.

An LA regional certainly makes things easier for Region X teams.

The SCIAC champ would also be another potential for an ETBU regional. It looks like there will be a heavy concentration of hosts in a few regions.

With a couple weeks to go, looking like Region X will get 4 or possibly 5 teams in this year. ETBU looks like the only possible host team as of now. What are everyone else's thoughts?

The CMS/CLU series will make or break Chapman's postseason. CMS needs to win 2 of 3 to feel good about NCAA. PP needs a sweep and probably at least one win in the SCIAC. The rest of the conference probably needs to win the SCIAC to get a bid.

Not sure what to make of some of these scores so far. PP seems to have a prolific offense and no pitching. McMurry is having a rough start. Whitworth is hanging in there with some good teams and beat LV. The Cru with a couple top 15 wins so far and the rubber match today against Webster.

Were there only 5 pre-season all Americans from Region 10?

Starting to see a few rosters and schedules going up. Some big names have moved on and some others are ready to break out. Any pre-season predictions? The SCIAC looks to be a 4 or 5 team race again. LV and CLU appear to have lost the most key contributors with CMS losing arguably the biggest contributor.

It will be interesting to see how the teams look after all the transfer portal stuff is over in a couple months.

I felt the PP coach did a better job considering he lost arguably 2 of the top 10 arms in the country before the season and still made the NCAA. I also thought the Redlands coach did a phenomenal job. Like you said as well, the McM coach was also very deserving.

Hate seeing the last Region X team knocked out. I felt like most of the Region X tournament teams had the makeup to get to the CWS. At this point in the season it just takes one team to get hot and another to cool off.

It will be interesting to see how things shake out in the offseason. Lots of huge impact seniors exhausting eligibility and some impact guys already in the transfer portal. For the SCIAC,LV is losing a ton of seniors including their top two starting pitchers. CMS loses the best hitter in the country but has the remainder of their lineup returning along with most of their pitching. Redlands loses a couple key pieces but they look poised to make the NCAA next year. CLU loses quite a bit of pitching and possibly some key pieces in their lineup. PP loses an all American and a couple other hitters, but they return some great hitters and most of their pitching production from this year.

Quote from: Pat Coleman on May 28, 2025, 02:26:43 PMWe could definitely have used more pitcher nominations in Region 10.

Do you think certain coaches didn't push for players with their SID, or the SID's just didn't push hard for those players? I imagine D3 baseball can't scour stats for every conference and then try to determine how good that competition was.

Quote from: Ralph Turner on May 28, 2025, 12:50:48 PMAll-Region teams are nominated & voted by the SIDs. That is the 1st thing I consider.

Yep. That's why I put snubs in quotes. Most likely the SID either didn't advocate hard for them or left them off completely

Looking through the D3 baseball all region team, there are a few obvious "snubs" or players who should have probably been higher than others. A couple that stand out, CMS had a reliever who had a 1.77 ERA through 56 innings in the regular season to lead the conference by more than half a point and didn't make any of the all region teams, and a starter who had a 2.50 ERA that also didn't make any teams. The starter had a CG shutout and two other outings where he went 7 shutout innings against SCIAC tournament teams.

Endicott seemed very prepared for CMS. The Friday Endicott pitcher was elite against CMS hitters and the Endicott hitters seemed to know exactly what was coming. CMS made some nice adjustments, but some bad luck and good play from Endicott ended their season. They had a ton of momentum against the Endicott starter before he had to be removed due to injury. CMS left a ton of runners on base where Endicott seemed to cash in almost every time they had runners on.

The CWS should be fun to watch. CMS will have a good opportunity to make it to supers again next year. The team is very young and only losing a couple seniors, although one is arguably the best hitter in the country.

McMurry is one I think has a great chance to pull off the upset. 2 teams in the finals would be awesome!
