Im being told that him Joshua East and three other seniors have been training for U Maine's pro day. Very interesting.
What is strange to me is that East and Young both entered the portal after their junior years and neither one got anything of note which is why they ended back at Colby. Wish both of them the best but this has to be one of the stranger things I have seen.
Agreed.

Every Oline and offense is challenged against a player like Price-- he's the best in the league. Let's see how Bates schemes against the Bowdoin D. It's gonna be a good one in Lewiston.

How so with a triple option?
I don't care if they run the OU 1950s wishbone he's going to be in the backfield all day trying to blow up whatever they try to run
Bates handled Middlebury's DL front three and arguably Middlebury has one of the best DL in NESCAC. I think they will be fine and Bowdoins offense does not seem capable of sustaining drives.
its different. its easier to handle talent deep in the trenches than a slow OT against the most athletic player in the league .. why do u think edge rushers get paid so much in the nfl

I think Coach Coyne has them going in good direction. They lost to Trinity which I beleive many thought they would but played hard despite the score. They should have beaten Amherst , Colby and Williams. I think they have a great deal of postivity moving forward. I think this and some more good recruiting classes and they can make a hard push for the middle to upper eichelon of the League
Hoping my polars take care of business saturday and we have another CBB under the lights to look forward to.
Happy for Bates as well, but I'm going to stand up for Colby here. Colby outgained Bates by nearly 160 yards in that game, punting only twice all night. To say Bates *should* have won that game is certainly a stretch... It was a highly competitive rivalry game that nearly went to OT, but Colby was the better, more consistent team that night.
With that said - Bates has a great opportunity to win 4 games, which would be their best record in 10 years. Kudos to Coach Coyne and the players for righting the ship after last season.
Similarly, I'm hopeful Colby can continue its recent momentum and finish off its first winning season since 2005. Hopefully the collapses down the stretch the past two seasons focus this group to finish the season strong.

October 24, 2024, 09:33:39 PMQuote from: mhoncho123 on October 24, 2024, 09:25:23 PMBates Fans,
Not sure if there are any Bates supporters on this board, but if there are, listen closely. There are 75 trained assassins leaving Middlebury VT tomorrow afternoon and traveling into pathetic Lewiston. They are trained to KILL. As much as I respect the triple option, they don't even run it from under center. WTF is that? I like the Panthers a lot in this one. My friend in Antigua and Barbuda has it at Middlebury -25.5, and to be honest, I really like that. Seems fair and that line should get action. If any one wants to hop in on that, PM me and I can get you in touch with the right people.
Reminds me of a bar fight I got into about 10 years. I was in Portland on a work call and I stumble into some bar off Congress St. As I am almost finished with the pitcher of Coors Lite I ordered, I see a man wearing a Vietnam War Veteran hat. I initially walked over to thank him for his service, because there is nothing I respect more than our troops. But, as I looked closer, I saw it. This elderly man was wearing a "Bates Bobcat" T Shirt. How Pathetic is that?? Frustrated and angered, my instincts took over. I grabbed the rest of the pitcher and gave this old man an ALS Ice Bucket Challenge with Coors Lite. I would like to reiterate, there is nothing I respect more than our Troops. But, there is no logical reason to be wearing a Bates T Shirt in public, much less in the presence of a legend like myself.

October 18, 2024, 07:35:34 PMQuote from: Trin9-0 on October 18, 2024, 04:40:32 PMThe more I look at the Trinity-Middlebury game from last year the more confident I am about tomorrow. The biggest reason Trinity lost was they couldn't get it done in the red zone. The Bantams put up 444 yards of total offense and punted only once but had to settle for FIVE Jumes field goals. And, of course, they botched the end of the game; down 5 with :17 seconds left at the 2 yard line they ran only one play got stuffed for no gain. Obviously they should have thrown it into the end zone on third down at the very least.
Turnovers were another huge factor. Fetter uncharacteristically threw 2 picks in the game (he only had 3 INTs the entire rest of the season). One of only four lost fumbles on the year happened in the fourth quarter as well when DiNapoli turned it over at his own 28 yard line.
As Nescacman pointed out, the Bantams have scored TDs on 15 of 18 red zone trips this season and Zebrowski has 0 picks on the year. If Middlebury allowed Amherst to score three TDs then I think Trin scores at least 28 and the Bantams haven't allowed that many points in a game in over two years.
Midd is fighting for the lives and has the homefield advantage, but Trinity wants revenge and I think they get it 34-20.
Agreed - if you watch the film of that game trinity had every opp to win that game just didn't bounce their way / as you said very uncharacteristic misses. think trin covers -13.5 (who bets a -14 spread?)
