Chicago has loaded up with Wesleyan grad transfers: Wesleyan's Shane Regan and Nick Roper from Illinois Wesleyan. This should make them prohibitive favorites for the UAA next season and national contenders.

Emory and Wash U also can be top 25 teams.

It's difficult to see anyone else in the mix for the post season, but let's wait until we see the rosters before counting them out.

DJ Courtney is headed from Kalamazoo to Brandeis University! Major pickup for the Judges as they land a rising star in D3 hoops.

It is well known that Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau got his start at the D3 level as a player, assistant coach, and head coach at Salem State but there also is a UAA connection to the Knicks coaching staff. Darren Erman attended Emory (but did not play basketball there) and Erman, Larry Greer, and Andy Greer were all Brandeis assistants.

after some consideration i have decided to stay at Brandeis University for my senior year #Rolldeis

That's a big boost for Brandeis. He should be a top contender for first time all league next year.

NYU is graduating all its starters and around 80% of its scoring so the next coach will have his work cut out for him. Sanders is a good piece to build around though.
#7
Ethan Edwards, Brandeis graduated a year early and entered the portal.

If I could legally bet on this I would put my money on Emory or WashU winning the league.

Justin Allen had 50 points for Carnegie today in an overtime win over Dickinson. Allen went 9-13 for three pointers and was perfect in seven free throws. I'm not sure if that is a UAA record but the record for most points in a conference game is 49.  Not so good, is Dickenson taking Carnegie into OT.  Dickenson has won only four games this year and their wins have come against teams with a combined record of five wins for the year.

Massey rankings have the UAA as the top conference in D3.  The individual schools are:

Emory - 1
NYU - 5
Wash U - 14
Brandeis - 31
Carnegie - 36
Rochester - 69
Chicago - 93
Case - 95

Carnegie Mellon roster is available. Justin Allen and RJ Holmes are both back.

This league is going to be tough from top to bottom.  Still, with nearly everyone returning from Emory and Wash U and lots of talent they have to be the teams to beat.  They should both be pre-season D3Hoops top 25 teams.  Competing for the top half of the league and a shot at the NCAAs will be Case, Brandeis, NYU, and possibly CMU (at least if RJ Holmes and/or Justin Allen are returning).  Of course, that could all change with injuries and unexpected departures.

WashU has posted its roster. I'll leave it to WUPHF to comment.

Chicago has posted its 2024-2025 roster. One D-1 transfer, Dominic Martinelli, 2.4 points per game last year for St. Thomas. He was a 2,000-point scorer in high school.

Five freshmen: Arhan Lapsiwala 6'3" guard from Texas; Carter Seeliger 6'6" forward from Texas; DJ Harvey 5'10" freshman from South Carolina; Daniel Cochran 6'7" forward from Tennessee; LJ Moore 6' 7" forward from Georgia. It looks like a promising class.  Chicago is only losing 16 ppg from last year, most notably Bryce Hopkins 11 ppg.

In other UAA news, Brandeis has added a 6'6" rising junior transfer from D-2 St. Anselm's, Elias Rodl. Interesting fact, his father Henrik won an NCAA championship with UNC in 1993, played professionally in Germany for more than ten years, played in the Olympics and recently coached the Egyptian national team.

Carnegie Mellon has announced a four-player incoming freshman class:

Jackson Mansfield-Jimenez G Miami
Evan Marizimi Wing Northfield Mt. Herman Massachusetts
Alex Hassanein PG California
Ian Brown Wing Wilmette Ill.

No word on whether there are any transfers.

It looks like RJ Holmes is not returning. His Linkedin says he attended CMU 2000-2004.
CMU has an excellent returning backcourt in rising juniors Justin Allen and Buckley DeJardin.
