November 13, 2024, 02:12:15 AMQuote from: Greek Tragedy on November 10, 2024, 08:14:34 AMNo Calvin Williams IV on St. Thomas' roster?? I thought he was only a junior last season. Anyone know? They listed him as a junior but there was some ambiguity around the year he'd played in the defunct JBA before college. Not sure if they tried and failed to get him one more year or if he just decided to get paid to play overseas instead but I'll ask around.

Don't mean to imply it is solely over money (although most decisions at this level are to some degree) but they have a clear travel partner in the SCAC with Ozarks College.

Hendrix to SCAC will be announced shortly. Won't go into effect until 2025 to my understanding but haven't seen the official announcement anywhere.

SCAC has at least had discussions with FloSports as well, I would be surprised if they aren't signed up eventually. The monetary figures are so small (original article about Landmark conference had it at <30k per school annually) that it really is a shame to reduce eyes on these games...

Not super well versed but I imagine it's a bit of a zero-sum game for enrollment moving forward as nationwide college enrollments drop by 15+% through the rest of the decade.
Athletes make up significant proportion of enrollment and the product these student-athletes will receive is worse now with the dissolvement of the ASC.

May 15, 2024, 02:59:29 PMQuote from: Pat Coleman on May 15, 2024, 02:33:33 PMJust let us in and we'll stop taking it personally. Excellent.
It's true from the ASC perspective. I don't think SCAC cares or should care about the remaining ASC schools' feelings. If they don't want to admit them for any reason that's the SCAC prerogative. I personally doubt all 4 of those schools survive until 2030 and almost certainly not at the D3 level.

Multiple members of Baptist 4 are desperately seeking entry to SCAC, any animosity will quickly go out the window if offered a life raft.
Quote from: crufootball on May 15, 2024, 10:12:03 AMIs there any way for the Baptist 4 to not take it personal that the SCAC made the decision to do the round robin schedule as opposed to scheduling them?
