I found this job description of the open Colby Men's basketball head coach position.  It reads like a parody. Who wrote this?  What is going on in Colby Atheltics?

There may be occurrences of employees, past employees, members of the general public, and others who express opinions, may exhibit strong emotions, which will require the employee to interact professionally, diplomatically, and appropriately in such situations.

While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the office space as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities.

There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged personal computer use which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor.

An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds to perform essential position functions.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focus quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasks as well.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be unexpected instances of somewhat loud sounds.

Operates on courts, gymnasium, and training rooms.  General campus environment.  Several weeks of domestic travel and frequent evening and weekend work required throughout the year.

Indications are he will fight this.

Anybody know what are typical details of a contract between NESCAC colleges and their coaches are?

What kind of job protection does a coach have, if any?

Very un-Colby like.

Colby had 2 head b-ball coaches from the 1970-71 through 2024-25 seasons.

This is a disturbing development

"The rumor is well circulated on Mayflower Hill and acknowledged beyond but I'm hearing it's not a decision based totally on team performance- I infer that it's something away from day to day coaching and maybe off the court.

There may indeed be a press release soon but Strahorn is a fiery guy who could complicate things."

Seems reckless to post such things.

Is it like it is at D! schools were big funders alumnis call the shots?  Hope not.  Pretty sure most of the alums who follow the program did not want Strahorn gone

Very surprised if Colby lets Strahorn go.  That came out of the blue.

It got close but Hamilton finished Middlebury.

Amherst up big on Williams.

Colby getting smoked by Wesleyan.

Colby beat Amherst -- so they get the #7 and the #2 seed?

Colby down 16 at halftime.

The good news for the Mules is that Middlebury is down 12 with 12 minutes to go.

Amherst up 9 over Williams -- not good

Colby will likley lose to #1 Wesleyan today, leaving them at 4-6 in the Nescac.

Bowdoin and Bates are out of playoff contention.

Williams is 4-5 going into today's action.  Amherst and Middlebury are each 3-6.

Williams plays Amherst and Middlebury faces Hamilton.

If Amherst and Middlebury each win, they, along with Colby and Williams will end their regular season with 4-6 Nescac records.

Colby edged Amherst and lost to Middlebury and Williams in league play this year.

If all 4 teams end at 4-6, who is out of the playoffs?

Back in the mid to late 60s, an Amerst Frat snuck onto the Williams football field prior to the big Amherst/Williams rivalry football game and painted a large "A" onto the field.

The following year, a Williams frat responded by painting a letter onto the Amherst football field before the big game.

They painted an A- onto the field.

Nice to see Noah Tyson with an assistant coaching position with a NESCAC school.

I expected to see him on the Colby bench last year but it did not happen
