Quote from: Jbothe on Today at 02:54:31 PMNorth Central/IWU was closer than expected. Did IWU have a lot of time of possession?  NC miss some scoring opportunities?

I didn't see the game but looking at the stats NCC had a little over 36 minutes of possession. Their RB Donovan McNeal rushed for 202 yds.

I did read early in the 4rth Q IWU had a chance to make it 17-14 getting down to the NCC 4 yd line but got stopped on 4rth down. Looks like Smyth started at QB for IWU.

For WashU fans not familiar with UWS, they are the team Wheaton beat last year 35-32.

This year they are 5-5 with all 5 losses being to playoff teams. The 4 WIAC playoff teams and also Wartburg.

Quote from: Nitzermania on Today at 05:21:35 PMAs a Wheaton fan, I hoped for but did not expect to receive a first round game against the UMAC champion, Crown.  I sense the bracket creators gave that as an offering with the downside of playing the #2 team in the NPI, Wartburg, the following week.  I'm hoping that Wheaton on a good day, healing up from some injuries, can compete with the Knights!

Tough road for Wheaton. One game at a time.

Quote from: Jbothe on Yesterday at 08:13:29 PMAnyone watch WashU/Augie game?  Something strange must have happened on a KO to Augie that led to immediate score?  Went from 28-7 to 35-7.

Also looks like Augie final score was on an untimed down on last play of game?  If I'm reading box score correctly.

At 1:26 left score is WashU 28 Augie 7.
On a 4rth and 2, Augie hits a long pass for a TD. Xtra point is blocked.
Augie tries an onside kick, bounces right into a WashU players hands. Augie players run by him looking for the ball, he runs right into the end zone.

Not sure what happened at the end. We lose the stream with 42 seconds left.
Play by play stats looked messed up.

Carthage 7, Carroll 3
Millikin 29, Elmhurst 22
North Central 24, Illinois Wesleyan 7
Wheaton 52, North Park 6

I think the sidearm stats were wrong on the WashU game when it ended.
Now shows WashU 35 Augie 13

WashU 3rd trip to Isthmus most likely to play UWS. CCIW looking for back to back wins after losing first 3 games.

Datacast guys updating NPI real time. It will be changing as games go final but currently Mount Union #1.

Final CCIW standings

https://www.d3football.com/conf/CCIW/2025/standings

Compare to preseason poll. IWU and Augie flip positions from what was predicted in preseason poll. Carthage and Millikin ended up higher a spot and NPU lower then predicted.

Quote from: NCC2010 on Yesterday at 04:01:18 PMNightmare scenario for NCC fans like myself with Johns Hopkins losing. Likely means UWRF in the quarters and if they get by them then a trip to Alliance in the semis...

Looking at the play by play stats for JHU game looks like JHU missed a 30 yd FG at the end of regulation for the win. They got the ball first scored, xtra pt then F&M scored and got the 2 pt conversion.

Carthage 7 Carroll 3 (Probably lowest point total in a CCIW game this season. Carroll got nothing going until 4rth Q. Their D though kept them in the game and they got into Carthage territory late but got stopped.)

Around D3:
Ithaca 26 Cortland 21
F&M 29 JHU 28 OT (F&M 2 pt conversion for the win)

Quote from: Cardinal773 on November 12, 2025, 06:12:51 PMMichigan @ Northwestern (@ Wrigley) this weekend.  With NU's stadium under construction it's a nice option.  Michigan will probably set a modern day 'lowest attendance' record at our tiny little MLB stadium.

The capacity is probably going to be smaller at the new Ryan Field when that opens, targeted 35k. Old Ryan field was 47k.

Quote from: GoIrish7 on November 12, 2025, 02:27:48 PMCongrats on a great Career to Reed Breckheimer from Carroll. Love watching him play and he has had a hell of a career vs Elmhurst. Just shy of 400 all purpose yards and 6 TD's from a listed TE.

Wheaton SR TE Ben Juska is having an awesome year. As the Thunder's #2 Receiver (Wheaton has 4 WR in the top 25 in the CCIW stats) and one of their main short yardage threats as an RB he currently has 474 all purpose yds and 7 TD's.

Juska had a big day against Carroll. I remember him.

Reed this season has 462 receiving yards, 303 rushing yards, 10 TD's. 1 pass completion for 28 yds.
