Quote from: GroundandPound on December 10, 2024, 03:43:14 PMDoes Williams have a sports information department?
Does Williams disdain athletes and/or football players?
A poster to this blog shared the phenomenal news that Tim Forth received an invite to the East West Shrine Game.
In 100 years it appears only one other NESCAC player received such an invite before this year. I believe a Trinity player got an invite in 1955. This year two NESCAC players earned an invite and Williams' Athletic Department apparently wants to keep this a secret.  Way to go Tim!!!

Perhaps, not sure if he has made the invite public or accepted the invite yet, maybe due to rehabing injuries sustained during the season?
But at very least Ephs Sports haven't even made a post about team award winners yet, they seem to take their sweet time.

Quote from: MikeJones50 on November 19, 2024, 05:11:16 PMHearing that the preliminary meeting between Forth and Tampa Bay went well- they are interested in his size and athletic ability. Main focus will be on the mass is he able to put on from now until the draft. Not surprised with any of this information. Obviously, draft is unlikely, so they will monitor the situation towards the end of the season and the spring. Still a long shot and mostly speculative, but heard that Bucs scouts were in Williamstown, so that speculation is real. Interested if anyone else in the NESCAC will gain NFL attention along with Forth and Perry. Unlikely that anyone that does not play in the trenches gathers any attention.

Makes sense about Forth, wish him nothing but the best

Quote from: DLSmith12 on November 19, 2024, 10:52:51 AMAbsolutely BS for Shuran to not get first team. Obviously an amazing (perfect) season for Jumes as well, but when comparing the stats there is really no argument for Jumes over Shuran. Shuran 9/9 FGs with makes from 47,44,43,37 while going 29/29 on xps. Jumin 7/7 FGs with a long of just 34 and 37/37 on xps. Shuran also hit multiple big time pressure kicks whenever Raymond turned to him. This is either complete Trinity bias by the league or an unacceptable oversight. Obviously Trinity had a better season and therefore will have more all league guys, but when it comes to kickers Shuran quite literally did everything in his power to help the Ephs and was a deep range weapon the NESCAC rarely (if ever) has seen. Putting Jumes above Shuran is an indefensible, idiotic example of malpractice and laziness by the coaches and league to rob Shuran of the recognition he deserves from the lifetime of work he has put in. To wave this aside by saying "eh, who cares, they're just kickers" or that since worse decisions have been made in the past this is ok is pathetic.

Very eloquently put, Mr. David L. Smith

Quote from: Hogz on November 15, 2024, 10:14:53 PMAny ideas of what O linemen and D linemen will make the all NESCAC team? I know forth from Williams and Perry from Middlebury are guaranteed selections.

I heard Williams OG Forth has a try out with the Tampa Bay Bucs, has anybody else heard this?

Any chance that Williams RB Mario Fischetti gets at least a second team all league nod even though he only played seven games? He has been the most talented back in the league for years, it would be a shame if he never got any recognition for it due to his injuries over the years.

Quote from: Ephsfan1 on October 21, 2024, 05:16:09 PMHas anyone every witnessed a better kicker in the NESCAC than Ephs kicker Ivan Shuran? Certainly the best currently. Dude nailed a 47 yard field goal this week, which would've been good from 50+.

Stephen Hauschka??

fair point lol

What a schematic nightmare for opposing OCs. Kid is otherworldly talented.

Bowdoin defense responds well to some initial adversity. Offense needs to string some first downs together.

Finish it out. GoUBears.

He had two tackles and a fumble recovery td on a bad snap am I missing something here?!?!

Quote from: EphsML on September 26, 2024, 10:53:29 AMWilliams OL play has looked a little sluggish since the departure of Harry Walsh at right tackle. Big test this week against a Bantams team in Hartford.
Agreed he was a STAPLE!

Quote from: Laravit on September 21, 2024, 05:45:33 PMWord out of Waterville is that a young Eph lost part of a finger on the first onside attempt by Colby, and remained on the field for the second attempt after it was called back due to a return team false start. William's trainer was seen carrying it out in a bag of ice after the game.

Now that's heart, wish him all the best and a speedy recovery.

Quote from: EphsML on August 13, 2024, 10:55:11 AMWEEK 1 Selections:

Amherst over Bates (14-7)

Trinity over Colby (42-7)

Williams over Hamilton (28-17)

Bowdoin over Tufts (21-14)

Middlebury over Wesleyan (28-10)

First post on the Boards. I agree with mostly everything here. I think Wes plays Midd closer than that but agree that they don't win. Not sure about Bowdoin, though, seems unlikely that they win. As for Williams, I see them winning against Hamilton and am curious to see how their punting game looks like season. They lost their senior punter from last season who was great at drawing penalties because of his slow-appearing motion then quick leg swing to create fast exit velocity. The nuances of his game were honestly special for those who cared for that aspect of the game. Regardless, I see them taking care of Hamilton. Trinity and Amherst are basically locks.

What a yapathon, but yes I heard the kid was a big presence in the locker room too, should be interesting to see how the ephs adjust on special teams.
