Quote from: Ralph Turner on October 05, 2026, 01:28:00 PMI can totally imagine the 3 way scenario we had with ETBU in 03 with HPU getting the autobid. main difference would be NPI deciding the fieldQuote from: CruFrenzy on October 03, 2026, 11:34:51 PMI am more cautious about HPU. Nelson may do well to finish 4-7 this season.Quote from: UMHB03 on October 03, 2026, 09:48:21 PMI can't complain too much about a 50 point win, but this was a pretty underwhelming performance considering they were essentially playing against a bunch of traffic cones. This is the kind of opponent Fredenburg used to beat 84-0 with the 2nd and 3rd stringers playing the entire second half. Sadly we just aren't anywhere near that level anymore, and probably never will be again.
What I will complain a lot more about is the fact that university leadership expects us to play $30+ per month if we want to watch the games online, only to have us looking at a "technical difficulties" screen half the night. This might be the biggest and most insulting scam I've ever personally witnessed. Do better, UMHB,
I don't mind paying for the broadcasts but I also use it a lot to watch other games so I guess I get decent bang for the buck.
The performance tonight wasn't good, I agree. Honestly thought it was the worst we have played all season. Sloppy and zero intensity. I know it was Keystone but we are coming off a loss that should've hit really hard, was hoping for a response.
Howard Payne is VERY good this season, they'll happily end our season next week if we play even remotely close to how we did today.
I can imagine Tri-Champs in the ASC if HPU slips up on UMHB and loses to HPU.
Then, UMHB could get up and beat HSU in the rivalry game.

If we do a top 8 seed and hosting some games is very possible. HSU looks good again this season. That last game of the season in Belton might just be a gigantic one.If we win out and HSU is undefeated coming into Belton, it'll be for the conference championship, playoff seeding, and school pride, and should be a crazy atmosphere. If only it could be a night game...
Night game would be incredible but with the game being in mid November the weather could potentially be fantastic for a 1 pm kickoff.. could even be cold by then depending on what the weather does. I'll take either of those options over the weather we had vs Endicott last week

maybe there could be a hybrid form. the feed belongs to the school, so the school should be able to provided it for free, but the paying customers get full flo access to include archived games, etc. So those that want full access can pay the fee and those who just want to watch their teams live can.

I agree about flo to a point. it irritates me that I paid for a sub-par product, but on the bright side. I watched The UMU final drive and flipped o a few other games. And Flo covers Cycling so I have access to other things i didn't have before. However, if you're going to use the paywall, at least make an effort

September 11, 2026, 12:08:21 PMQuote from: Ralph Turner on September 11, 2026, 12:24:23 AMThe curious thing would be for a 7-2 McMurry to be in the hunt for a Pool C bid with a strong NPI that TUTx, HSU and UMHB are likely to provide.Side note:
McMurry would need good seasons out of Dubuque and Huntingdon in their respective conferences to boost the NPI
The president of Dubuque is a former HSU professor, Schriener Provost, and taught at a private school in Belton while finishing his PhD at Baylor. He is very familiar with the ASC.

March 31, 2026, 01:02:34 PMQuote from: Ralph Turner on March 27, 2026, 12:03:50 PMMcMurry's schedule is up. 9 games. Open dates are week #4 and #6.The president of Dubuque Has ASC connections. He was one of my Seminary professors at HSU, taught at a Christian school in Belton while finishing his PhD at baylor, and was the provost at Schreiner before taking the position at Dubuque,
At Southwestern, at Trinity TX, hosting Huntingdon and at Dubuque (IA). ASC games are in weeks 7-11.
Apparently, there were no open dates or "opportunity" to play a 10th game versus an SCAC team.
(Nice game to play Dubuque.) I cannot recall McMurry ever playing a team from Iowa.

Sent my .02 to UMHB admin. I won't pay for a feed that costs more than a game ticket and is a static pressbox feed that is iffy at best. I would happily pay for a UMHB dedicated feed where my money went to the school. I guess that means if I can't drive to it, I wont be watching it.

My questions are.....
What's the appeal for being D2 when you are getting your head bashed in for every sport?
Why is saving money worth that to a university. No pride in athletics is kinda sad.
What's the appeal for an athlete to go there? If they are getting offered there...they likey have other offers.
Just seems like a lose-lose proposition to me.
SRSU is a very small fish in an ocean filled with sharks and whales.
Saving on travel costs is one thing.....but.... isn't being competitive in ANYTHING important too?
SRSU might not have been a juggernaut in the ASC....but they were at least competitive.
On the outside looking in....it seems like they will be wanting back into D3 within less than 10 years. Losing like that in every sport is no fun for coaches, players, fans, or the community.
That's just flat out U G L Y in my opinion.

Should have expected some growing pains, I guess.I actually sent a message to our UMHB group chat during the game that said, "this is starting to feel like 2021."
Going to take a look at the NCC 2 deep and see what they lose going into next year, at some point.
Stagg Bowl passing stats of NCC first-year QBs
Cmp Att Yds TD Int Long Sack Lehnen vs. UMHB 18 27 202 1 3 30 3 Wilson vs. UWRF 18 28 194 0 2 30 3
Eerily similar, eh?
I recall vaguely that Lehnen went on to do pretty well in years 2-4, so I'm hoping for the same from Wilson!![]()

Tackling could use some work but saw some new faces on the defense have good games. Michaux looked better and made some really nice passes. It was a shame he didn't make any connections on deep balls though. What are we considering deep balls? The touchdown pass to stewart in the 4th was a 33yd dime on the run. probably the prettiest pass he's thrown all season.
Blessing Ngene is a special running back.

Just read a Temple Daily Telegram story about the CRu that said BJ Stewart is in concussion protocols and is questionable for the HPU game.

October 13, 2024, 10:27:10 AMQuote from: Etchglow on October 13, 2024, 12:31:34 AMHonestly, the multiple unsportsmanlike conduct penalties was just icing on the cake. I wasn't paying attention as to what Durand Hill did to get ejected for a single Unsportsmanlike penalty (Usually throwing a punch or someone mentioned hitting a ref?), but Harmon needs to come down on that hard. I mean, Hill is a freaking Captain and All-American...
When they announced ex the ejecton they said he hit or touched a referee. They showed the replay and I couldn't see anything.
