Poor Macalester having to come up against SJU for the first time in decades, and the Johnnies being a bit angry...

Trey Feeney is ranked 3rd in Passing Efficiency per the NCAA Stats. Wonder how long the dualing QB situation will continue? As has been pointed out, it requires teams to prepare for both. I have no complaints about either. Feeney's obviously less of a threat on the ground than Dittbenner.

Surprised that he has enough throws to qualify given the rotation and early exits.

The uncle I took to the Johnnies game few weeks ago is a high school football ref. Does that mean in between him enjoying his first trip to an SJU game I had to listen to him for three hours complain about the knees not being covered and players wearing shorts? Yes, yes it does. In his high school games anyway he doesn't allow it.

The thing is, guys have been cutting down the size of those knee pads for years. It was to the point it was laughable what counted as a "Knee pad." Shoulder pads and helmet are essential, but it's not like most guys are wearing butt pads either nowadays. If you want to run with no knee pads, do so at your own risk. But the trend of cutting or rolling the pants to the point they are above mid-thigh just seems weird. There was a Florida dlineman with so much leg showing the announcers were joking he was gonna leave the game with a speedo tan line.

It seems a couple of learning trials of knee versus artificial turf would be enough to change a player's mind about exposed skin. That said, I'd rather see knees than exposed belly fat. I'm looking at Hamline here. Yikes!
If the human brain were so simple that we could fully understand it...we would be so simple that we couldn't.

Seriously, Hamline's Oline is clearly all in on the body positivity era  ;D  They'd be a sloppy looking Oline regardless, but proudly repping those belt-covering soft muffin tops for all to see is an interesting vibe to go for.  :-X

Why D3 is great stat of the day:

James Franklin will make over 20 THOUSAND DOLLARS PER DAY from Penn State for the next six years.

• Per minute: $15
• Per hour: $913
• Per day: $21,917
• Per week: $153,846
• Per month: $666,666

The greatest gig in the world. Getting fired as a a big time college head football coach.

Saw someone else say someling like Franklin's buyout was equal to the entire budget of D3 athletics for the NCAA for two years for all sports. That's just gross. Here's to d3 still having some semblance of priorities.

This "new" turf is about 10X better than Astroturf, at least.  My gosh, I may still have scars from the Fargodome turf in 2001.

I would have had so many more sacks if I would have tried this!  ;D

YES.

Spent 1 season worth of home games in high school on it at UMD when the shared stadium in Duluth (Public Schools Stadium) was being renovated from grass to new turf...UMD still had astroturf.  Any exposed skin was toast.

I've been working high school chain gang for a couple schools the last two seasons. Last year the officials at least tried to enforce it. They would tell a kid to pull the pants over the knew. A couple plays later they had them back up. This year I think there's been one time I heard a ref tell player to pull them over the knee.
The other one that gets me is players having their mouth guard out...like frequently.
