Misericordia

If they are playing 25 D3 games, then there is only one non-conference opponent missing from that list above.

Stevens would have been the 25th. game but with them pulling a Houdini, the Lady Royals were left adding the Univ. of Vermont...which is nice but it doesn't help them D3 wise.

Stevens should be penalized by losing to Kings twice.

Looks like the Lady Royals got a big reprieve by somehow finding Union to add to the schedule now giving them 25 D3 games & one nice exhibition vs. UVT.

 The format for tipoff practice was adjusted from Midnight Madness to Morning Mass Madness.

Just for the hell of it I ran the Lady Royals vs. their schedule using Massey's matchup option.
I fully realize the games are played on the court and anything can happen but it was nice to see Massey has the them winning every regular season game by anywhere from 7 to 45 points.
The only exception is their game vs. Univ. of Vermont where they are underdogs by 23 (which I find hard to believe).

Scranton women ranked 4th. (tie with Oshkosh) in Pre-Season WBCA poll.
Personally, I'd have them 3rd. in front of Bates since the Lady Royals hammered the Bobcats the past 2 years in the NCAA 2nd. round.
At least initially...till you can beat them, you don't move in front of them.

Obviously I'm not going to go away from the defending champs who bring almost everybody back, but if I'm handicapping this thing, I'm giving Scranton the best odds of winning the title.  I still think that team in unbelievably stacked.

 From the viewpoint that it will be harder for Denison to defend rather than win it the 1st time would be the only edge that Scranton and NYU have vs Denison. Could possibly see the same teams in the Final 4 as last season.

Over the entire season, which includes Denison's NCAA Tournament surge, these are the efficiency margins between Denison, Scranton, and NYU:

Scranton: 9.1% better than NYU
Scranton: 44.1% better than Denison
NYU: 32.2% better than Dension

Denison was AWESOME down the stretch, but their level of play was a significant deviation from their level of play during the rest of the season.

Historically, teams that peak in the NCAA Tournament go back to their pre-peak levels of play.

Denison WAS amazing, and returns all five starters. But for the bulk of the year, their offensive and defensive performance, on a per-play basis, paled in comparison to both NYU and especially Scranton.
