Better start checking out those tie-breakers.

Correct me if I'm wrong someone, but I believe the conference champs or co-champs are determined strictly by the conference records.  The tie breakers come into play when determining the seeds for the conference tournament.

WARHAWKS: 101
Oshkosh: 91

It was the Titans who had it all going their way in the first half.  As a team they shot 65% from the floor and sank 10 three pointers.  The WARHAWKS also shot pretty well (55%) but only made 6 three pointers.  The Titans would build leads of 13 points and the WARHAWKS would whittle away at them, getting to within a pair twice, but each time the Titans rallied and pushed the lead back into double figures before the half ended 58-47.  The script flipped in the second half however as the WARHAWKS continued shooting at a 55% clip and the Titans went cold (29%) including just 1 of 11 three point attempts.  The WARHAWKS chipped away at the  Titan lead until Jake Quast tied the game and after a Titan turnover Collin Madson's layup at the 13 minute mark gave the WARHAWKS a lead, 67-65, that they would hold for the remainder of the contest.  The lead would reach 10 points, 89-79, and be maintained when the we went 12-14 from the free throw line over the last four minutes.  All five WARHAWKS starters, led by Madson's 32 points, would score in double figures (Verges:15, Luke Bara:15. Brock Marino:15 and Richie Warren:12). Marino added a game high 8 rebounds.

Note to broadcasters: Is it Jake Quast or Jack Quest?  I thought sooner or later you might get together and decide, right or wrong, what to call him.  But I was mistaken.  Instead you spent the entire night with each of you calling him by a different name.  It sounded really stupid.  But, honestly, it wasn't nearly as annoying as listening to the play by play officiate and critique virtually every call that went against the Titans. That was just pathetic.

Looks like plenty of carnage around D3. I believe 4-5 teams are worthy and that should hold up.

Greek Tragedy

I think 3 is probable, 4 is possible, 5 is unlikely. There are a few conferences where the top 2 (or more) are already within the top 21 Pool C positions, so as long as one of those 2 get the AQ, the other will get the Pool C. Neither would be bid thieves.

The NESCAC has 4 teams above Pool C 21, so as long as any of them get the AQ, that won't effect the WIAC.  The UAA has 5, so we probably want Brandeis (Pool C18) and Wash U (Pool C19) to continue to lose to give the WIAC a better chance to get more teams in. In the CCIW, we want IWU to win the AQ because no other CCIW team is within the Pool C 21 position.

You have to think Point, Oshkosh, Platteville, La Crosse and Whitewater are going to suffer 2, maybe 3 more losses each before the conference tournament.

That won't happen in the NESCAC.

I mean, it's really up in the air.  With four teams hovering near the bottom of Pool C, if the losses go a certain way, they could all drop out.  You're certainly going to have teams currently below them winning all but one of their remaining games.

Fascinating race to follow.  Although this is pretty much what I predicted midseason - too many good teams that might eat up each other's Pool C chances.

Greek Tragedy

To be fair, 9-12 is in the middle of Pool C. I think that's a big difference compared to 17-20. Obviously anything can happen, so we'll see. A loss or two may not hurt that much. Platteville just lost at Point and they basically didn't lose any position in the rankings.
