Great game by Shenandoah.  I hadn't expected CWRU to win.  Their passing offense is something else!

Yes, an uncharacteristic way for RMC to win a game. One long pass where the receiver beat the secondary, plus two long pass TDs with credit to the receivers for great runs after the catch. Also, one other big pass play where the receiver just beat his defender and made a nice catch before going out of bounds. The Jackets racked up 241 of their 310 passing yards on those four plays. Maryville did a good job containing the RMC running game giving up only 143 yards on 42 attempts. In all, a solid win for RMC, but hard to know how the team will fare in ODAC play.

H-SC won a high scoring affair, 43-41, way up in Maine vs University of New Englalnd.

Shenandoah lost a high scoring game in Cleveland 48-41 to Case Western Reserve. DagarmanSpartan's comment about the SU passing game has me concerned.

Salisbury easily handled W&L 43-13.

Averett hosts Gallaudet tonight.

Bridgewater, Guilford, and Roanoke had their bye weeks. They play next week, while the the five ODAC teams who played today are idle. Then it's seven straight weeks of conference action.

As for last week's RMC opponent, Johns Hopkins, the were handled easily today by Susquehanna, 49-23. That makes the win over Hopkins perhaps less remarkable than it seemed last week. Still a very good win, but with maybe a little less shine on it now.

Their QB had over 400 yards passing and 4 TDs.

He did, however, throw one pick six, which was the point differential in the game.

The H-SC/UNE game turned into a track meet.  UNE backs had 192, 143 and 108 yards, respectively.  Fortunately, UNE had almost no passing game (29 yards), and Terry Hicks had a monster 317 yards for the Tigers.

Averett downs Gallaudet 55-19. Last season the Cougars lost that game 39-30 in D.C.. Averett is 2-1. This might be a different Averett team than we have seen lately. ODAC opponents should not take them lightly.

Glad you put the qualifier "might" in there. I think they've just played terrible teams. Southern Virginia and Gallaudet are putrid. There is no way around it. And Averett lost to NC Wes, who lost to Sewanee. 

I think Averett has played 3 marshmallows and still managed to lose to one of them. I suspect they will still be terrible in the ODAC.

^^^ I'm always hedging my bets on observations like that. But last season Averett lost to NC Wesleyan 64-12 and this year 27-13. They also lost to Southern VA last year 46-14 vs a 41-34 win this year. So they improved their results against all three year-to-year. I know this is a new season for all those programs, so those comparisons aren't necessarily worth much. But, Averett does have a knew head coach. And I think it's always wise, in any sport, that no matter how good you think you are or how bad you think your opponent is, never underestimate your opponent's desire to win. They might just surprise you. I've seen it happen, as I'm sure you have.

So slightly less terrible than last year's 1-8? I can get behind that. I still think the only ODAC team they beat is Guilford. But who knows? W&L gets them in 2 weeks, so Averett will have the bye week to prepare.

^^^ I'm certainly not predicting any specific outcomes for Averett in any of their ODAC games. But every ODAC team would be wise to respect that, as you say, they are at the very least "less terrible" than last year. It's hard to know for sure at this point exactly how much less terrible they are. But I'd venture they will be tougher to beat this year than last. Five of their six ODAC losses last season were by 40 points or more. The other was by 27 to Bridgewater who are off to a tough start. I just reiterate the folly  of disrespecting an opponent and their desire to win. I know of one specific example in women's basketball out here where a player verbally said a game was a gimme for her team and had to eat those words. I'd venture to say there are more such examples in many sports.
