Wabash's left-handed starting pitcher in the win is a freshman and a townie (went to North Montgomery High School).

It keeps messing with me each time I look at the NCAC standings page on D3baseball.com and see Allegheny in 1st place!  It's like I went back to the 90's.  Good to see they're doing well in the PAC though.

Wait 'til next year when JCU is in the North Coast and Hiram is in the PAC.

Swapping JCU for Hiram is certainly an upgrade in competitiveness.  Hiram did sweep OWU today.  Neither game was particularly close.  They're hovering around .500 overall.  All things considered with the limitations of it being Hiram, Brua does a really nice job.  I think they're going to fit in well in the PAC competitively.  Maybe not 2026 because they're going to lose a ton of senior starters after this year, but overall I think they'll be fine.

Wooster is back on top of the NCAC standings, just like days of old.  However, they have yet to play the 2nd and 3rd place teams.  They play Denison this weekend Wabash next week.  Some things may be sorted out, or it may get more complicated, if Swick and the Scots don't win most of those 4 games.

One thing is for sure, 3 teams have pretty much been eliminated from the Conference Tourney - DePauw, Ohio Wesleyan, and Oberlin have struggled this year.

I have only seen them play once online, but Wabash seems to be pretty good this year so we're going to learn a lot about the Scots the next couple weeks.

Looking at the schedules remaining I think it's Denison, Wabash, Witt and Wooster as the top 4 for the conference tournament.  I don't know anything about Kenyon, but they have a tougher road ahead so I think Witt overtakes them as soon as this weekend.  If you're Witt you need to take care of business between now and the season-ending DH with Denison.  I wouldn't want to be in a must win spot going into that.

OWU lost at home to Wilmington who was 8-18 and last place in the OAC.  8th straight loss for the Bishops dropping to 8-21.  This will never stop shocking me for that once great program.

Agree about OWU.  When I played against them in the 90's they were always tough and were in competition for the conference title every year.  Even as recently as 2016 they went to Regionals.  Since then, it has been in decline.  I thought they were going to have a good year this year, but they can't seem to get anybody out (allow 9 runs a game) and they don't have very much pop in their lineup (5 HR total).  That is not a good combination for success.  I really hope that Mott and his staff can turn it around in the next couple of years. The NCAC is more fun with a competitive OWU.

It's going to take some interesting results for the top 4 to end up outside the aforementioned Denison, Witt, Wabash, Wooster group.  Denison will be the heavy favorite, but it's going to be a really competitive group from the little bit I've watched of NCAC ball.  When JCU joins next year the NCAC is just going to continue to trend in the right direction as a baseball conference.

My Little Giants are scheduled to play a double header against the depauw tigers today.  Unfortunately current weather conditions look better suited for ark building than baseball.
