While uniforms are the topic, The Helmet Project reports that Denison will become the fourth NCAC team with white shells and red logos.  Why did the Big Red have blue helmets anyway?

What happens if Denison plays Milliken? Do the "Big"s cancel out and it's just Red vs. Blue?

Looks like everyone but Denison & Ohio Wesleyan have their football previews up...and once again, SPORTS ILLUSTRATED Football Edition covers NOTHING in regards to D3. Now, more than ever....D3football.com

I'm with Smeds on the all-red look, although that seems to be what the players wanted. Solid dark colors, top and bottom, remind me of high school uniforms. Judging from the pics in the Sporting News/Street&Smith guide everybody is doing it with some really bizarre embellishments. Thank goodness for Penn State.

Is it because all of us are older??  Or are we simply not "up" with the current style??  I was wondering the same thing as my alma mater has been going with a blue on blue for home games.

I personally think the contrast of jerseys/pants is best..

Surprised about Witt being picked by the coaches.  It has to be due to the fact that Bash plays AT Witt.  Interesting though.  Media had them tied.  Looks like the results just came out.

I think the the home field advantage is going to sway the voters most years.

I think another factor in the coaches picking Witt over the Bash is not only the fact that  the game is in Springfield...but also because Wabash has a new coach with completely new offensive and defensive schemes and sets. Now, thankfully, we dont' start off with strong opponents so maybe by the time the Witt game rolls around, the Wabash men will feel comfortable with the new system. But..I think that plays into it as well.

Regarding Coach and Media polls, would guess that Huffman retaining the core cadre of his wide receivers (along with 16 returning starters/45 lettermen) while 'Bash graduated the majority of hers (yes, seems incorrect but does refer to alma mater  ;)) weighed in as well as earlier observations.  Where's Wally Fertig when I need him?

October 18th is a proof source, and not conjecture before fall workouts have commenced.  Nothing wrong with another team sporting a target at this juncture, especially when based on paper instead of results afield.

I think this qualifies as the first official surprise of the NCAC season.  I didn't expect Wabash to be ranked first by a wide margin, but I would have expected Wabash to be ranked at the top of the pack.  Three straight championships, 16 returning starters...these things usually add up to being preseason favorites.  It makes more sense if Wabash is replacing a quarterback (which was supposed to have been the case in 2008) but they aren't.  Yes there's a coaching change, but it isn't like Wabash replaced Creighton with an unproven coach.  Raeburn is a younger guy, but he's been coaching for 15 years and he's had plenty of success.  I'm really kind of surprised by this.  Not upset or peeved about it, just kind of surprised.

I'll tally up the results of the fan voting here for everybody tomorrow.

According to the front page Wabash fans are just ahead of DePauw in purchasing the Kickoff. Let's go Wabash Men! Break out those credit cards and get to ordering! Let's widen that lead!

I think it depends on the colors too.  Wooster has been donning the all black home unis from the pants to the helmets for several years now and I think they look pretty damn good with that look as opposed to when they donned the old gold pants.

I agree with scots fan, too much red does not look good, but the scots home unis are pretty nice I think, although the players may disagree during the first few games when the heat is through the roof ! but I digress, again, its all about the color, i am also a fan of white on white, but not red on red

I enjoyed the black on black, even in the heat.  The trick was having plenty of ice towels on hand!

I have been out of the loop from some time.  What happened to Creighton?
