What does Wiitenberg have returning vs. Wabash? The conference winner
will no doubt come from these two teams!

Any word on what school joins the NCAC in 2010 if that happens?

I for one expect Allegheny to have very nice team next season.

Here are the key returns for Wabash
WR Lemond 2x 1st team all NCAC
WR/RS Chamblee 1st team all NCAC
LB Gum 2nd team all NCAC
DB Martin

Here are the Key Returns for Witt
DL Vallery NCAC and D3 Player of the Year
LB McKinley 2x 1st team All NCAC
DL Kattoua 1st team All NCAC
LB Hurtt 1st team All NCAC
RB Weber 1st team All NCAC
OL Block 1st team All NCAC
P Cochran 1st team All NCAC
QB Huffman 5th year?

I also think you will see OWU put up a better showing in2010.

Short,

Thanks for the post, looks like Witt will be the team to beat in 2010!

Depends on what Huffman does.  I have a hard time believing that he won't come back, but you never know.  With Huffman, Wabash will go to Springfield next November as a regular season underdog for the first time in a looong time.  You'd probably have to go back to 2004 to find the last time Wabash played a regular season game that they wouldn't have been favored in.  Without Huffman, it's much closer.  The QB that Witt wanted to be a successor to Huffman wears a Wabash uniform.  Even without Huffman though, Witt would probably be a slight favorite given the home field advantage and the number of guys back on that defense.  The game changes a bunch if Witt replaces a fifth year senior QB with somebody who has negligible experience.

But it's no big deal if Wabash replaces a senior QB with negligible experience, right?  :D

Of course it is...the point is that it's a push if both teams are replacing senior QBs.  Don't read what isn't there.

With what Witt apparently has coming back you call that a push???

wally_wabash

At qb, yes.  Maybe even advantage Wabash...given that Witt wanted Wabash's next QB for themeselves.  Badly.

But, again, you choose to read only what you want and then stir the pot with it.  Read on...

Already covered it, ace.  Shouldn't you be worried about where your next QB is coming from?  Or who is going to be available to step in and coach when your HC bails in August?

Belton's thrashing of Woo was hardly "negligible experience."

If we're going to get chippy, let's at least get our facts right.

"Or who is going to be available when your coach gets fired in August."  Neither Rogers nor Walker bailed.  They got canned.  Come on now... a little decency goes a long way here....

Why do you say OWU should be better next year?  Have a close relative looking at OWU and Wooster right now.  At least he has visited both.  Loves Selby Field, but that is about it. The players there did not excite him nor the coaches.  Enjoyed Wooster's visit much better and still is going to visit Witt and a couple D2 schools.  I am biased towards Wooster, which he knows, but we shall see.
So what is up at OWU?

Officially, per the press release, he resigned.  But I think we can all read between the lines on this one.

Selby rules.  I'm looking forward to getting back over there next September.  I wish I could be as optimistic about OWU as short is.  They won five games over the last two years...years in which Wabash wasn't on their schedule.  Now they pick up Wabash again in lieu of Earlham (who they did beat last season).  They also lose CWRU and pick up Chicago which helps OWU, but Chicago won't be a gimme for the Bishops next year.  OWU starts @Denison, @Witt, vs. Wabash, vs. Wooster, @Chicago, vs. CMU, bye, @ Allegheny.  Is there more than one win available for OWU before Halloween?  If they don't get over on Denison in week 1, I don't know if there is.  OWU is long overdue for a fresh approach...unfortunately they seem to be the last to realize it.
