Yeah, Mount Union will definitely get paired with one of the pigtail winners and JCU (if 9-1) probably isn't in one of the pigtail games.  It's always possible that they could play early, but Mount Union and JCU are both within 500 miles of a ton of teams so it's easy to avoid- like there wouldn't be a reason to mis-seed JCU to make that happen just because they're close.

but...can they send JCU to Alliance anyways?

They can, and they might.  It'll just most likely be a round of 16 or later game if it happens.

Thanks Pat for clarifying the playoff situation.  I had not realized they expanded the playoff field, I follow Wabash but apparently not close enough to the entire D3 football scene.  One of my dear monastic friends at Saint John's in Minnesota always says, when SJU eventually lose in the playoffs, "Good now they can get back to being students." I think that is where my focus is too.  Go Wabash, but may all these student athletes get a great education.

Speaking of student athletes.  It was nice seeing the love the NCAC got in the new article: Ranking the conferences for 2025.  The NCAC jumped all the way to #12.  With WashU joining next year, the conference will not only have more quality football teams but strong academic possibilities too. Congratulations NCAC.

Loved Logan's answer to D3's Quick Hits question "Seven teams are holding opponents under 40 rushing yards per game. Which one gives up the most on the ground this week?"  🤣

👍. I heard Wabash joined the NCAC primarily because they were an excellent basketball conference. How has JCU been in men's basketball?

D3Fanboy, obsessed with JCU much? Going to other conference pages to discuss us. I didn't think our break-up was all that bad personally.

This Wabash/OWU game is tough to watch right now.

Pass defense is horrendous - I think they are missing assignments on nearly every pass play. OWU is running wide open nearly every play. I haven't seen this since the Jeff Ramsey defense days.

How do you score 44 and win by 17 but still feel like you were defeated?  Wabash appeared to be unprepared, undisciplined and poorly coached this week. Wabash is not winning the Bell Game playing like that.

Crawford

Hats off to Ohio Wesleyan's Chanden Lee.  If a player on a losing team can win offensive player of the week, I nominate him.

That's my feeling too!  It's scary when you look at the weight of college football players and almost all of them would be in the heaviest two weigh classes of a wrestling team.  So many gifted athletes at the lighter weight classes. Wish all NCAC schools had wrestling for men and women.
