Hiram College wins the inter-collegiate basketball world championship at the World's Fair Universal Exposition Olympic Games in St. Louis, Missouri. Final score: Hiram, 25; Latter Day Saints University, 18.

I think the most likely periods to check would be 2003-2004 when Wabash, Wittenberg, and Wooster were all very good- though Wabash was between playoff seasons right there and might not have been in the top 25.  2018-ish is another moment where we had Wabash + Witt in and around the top 25 and Denison was very good, but I'm not sure Denison cracked the top 25.  Probably, the best we've seen in the NCAC with respect to the top 25 is two ranked and one more in the ORV crowd.

Playing Oberlin today was almost a violation of the Gentlemen's Rule.
It's either a thoughtful comment or smartass sarcasm. Recognize the difference.

Did Wabash and Oberlin play 12-minute quarters?

Just watched the Wabash game. They had backups in the game in the first quarter. Brand Campbell played just 3 series and threw 6 passes. This was effectively a JV game for Wabash. No need to win 70-0.

Alright, as this board seems a bit dead at the moment, given it's bell week, let's hype this thing up! DPU vs Wabco, two 8-1 programs with what is almost guaranteed a playoff spot on the line. It's a big match-up, that should hopefully be a good game. Just based on how Wabash has looked the last few weeks, I'm a little worried as a Bash grad - I felt like we've looked a bit unorganized, but also getting Oberlin the week before the bell means that we'll likely go in fully healthy.

I'm excited - let's do this!

Just to see where my local teams might fit into the bracket. I did the potential brackets for the four "Western" top seeds. Of course, with this, there are a great number of possibilities and any little change can start a domino effect.
I tried to make sure the teams in the Top 24 in the NPI got a first-round bye and looked at this geographically -- except for the island game of Chapman-Whitworth, whose winner also could get sent to NCC again (because of O'Hare Airport). Any or all five of the Michigan or Indiana teams could go east but I sent them toward Wartburg or NCC. All those schools are too far of a drive to Bethel or UW-River Falls.

Hanover at Alma
winner goes to NCC

UW-Whitewater at Hope

---------------------

DePauw at Wheaton
winner goes to Wartburg

Wabash at Monmouth

----------------------
Chapman at Whitworth
winner goes to Bethel (Minneapolis-St. Paul airport)

Central at UW-Platteville (or UW-LaCrosse)

---------------------
Crown at Concordia (WI)
winner goes to UW-River Falls

St. John's at UW-LaCrosse (or UW-Platteville)

Nervous energy?

Saturday should be a great game... but did I see correctly somewhere that DePauw gives up an average of 10 yards on the ground?  If true, that's a crazy good stat, and I hate giving the Dannies any kind of credit...

Bob: Here are the stats for Wabash and DePauw in Div III (source: NCAA)

On paper, it looks much closer than it did last year. The offensive numbers are due to the fact that both schools walked over most of the NCAC except John Carroll, their common loss.

As always, the team that shows up and plays well will take it.  The last several years, that has been DePauw, combined with some questionable (my assessment) play calling by Wabash 2 years ago in the OT game.

Statistical Rankings for Wabash and DePauw
                                   DePauw                              Wabash
Total Defense            16th – 241.1 ypg      37th – 274.4 ypg
Scoring Defense    10th - 10.78 ppg      43rd – 17.78 ppg
Total Offense      44th – 422.8 ypg      45th – 420.2 ypg
Scoring Offense           23rd – 41.6 ppg              32nd – 39.1 ppg

Happy Monon Bell Eve!
Always followed the game, but definitely a little more interest this year, with an at large berth on the line and sharing a conference and all.

This will be me watching the game lol

Well, the first half has pretty much been a disaster, just took one bad pass and everything went to hell.  Who is going to step up and say enough?

Wabash stopped caring about football when they hired Morel.  I'm hoping Gilbert turns things around, but there sure have been a lot of mental errors this season.  Not sharp at all.

This board used to be one of the most active, looks like even the Wabash fan base has given up.
