Quote from: D3 Poster on August 16, 2026, 10:14:21 PMWhat's the over/under number of games for JCU's Polian to get his coaching record to be a winning one?  Looks like he's currently 23-27.  I'll go under 6.

Are we making 27-27 the winning record, or 28-27?

This isn't BWU and their record of mediocrity.  Got to be 28-27.

Here's my manual attempt to recap NCAC incoming freshmen.  I grouped the teams into four tiers, One non-roster poster (OWU), Obie and the old Lords in a group of their own, 35-40ish, 50 and above.

JCU (largest), DeP, Wab and Witt in the 50 and above.
Woo, Wash and Den in the 35-40ish group

Kenyon, Denison, Woo, Wash, JCU and Oberlin all with over double digit individual states represented.

No surprise that Dep and Wabash were Indiana heavy.  Witt was almost exclusive Ohio and FL. JCU was heavy OH and PA.

Week One, and the NCAC lacrosse board has had more chatter in the last week! What's up?

Good win for Wabash- nervy stuff to go down 14 early and come back and win against a solid team.  Obviously, they won't get away with 14 accepted penalties as league play gets underway, but better to be sloppy and 1-0 than the other way around.

It's always hard for me to know what to take away from games against  W&L.  They're just such an outlier opponent, especially their offense.  Wittenberg, kind of a mystery to me going into this week's game.

DePauw was uneven, but came back and won.  RHIT might be better than people think- their transfer QB looks like a dude and could cause some issues in the HCAC.

WashU looked light years better than anybody else in the league on Saturday.  I don't know how good Rhodes is or isn't, but WashU was crisp. No notes.

JCU won a good game at a really good CMU team.  It might take a minute for Tyler Green to settle in to that offense, but JCU's defense looked elite. CMU got nothing going all game.

Denison- relatively competitive as you'd expect, but just a step behind Hope at the moment.

OWU put up a ton of points against Bluffton. I'm not sure what to do with that information.  We'll find out how legitimate any of that is this weekend when JCU comes to Selby.

Kenyon, Wooster, Oberlin- Nice win for Kenyon, but I do think these three are a tier behind the rest.

The JCU game is one that we will know far more about in a matter of weeks. First off, first game for a new head coach and QB can always have it's issues, especially when you couple it with the fact that historically JCU is not nearly as good in week 1 as they are in the weeks to follow. Plus, if CMU were to beat Berry and run the table in the Centennial, then it looks stronger and stronger each week.

JCU does have kinks to work out, but all in all, I am pleased with the performance and still seems to be the team to beat in the NCAC.

Might be a stretch, but I see a path where maybe 3 teams could get bids this year.

Time will tell, but that's a huge stretch!

Gotta' hand it to the Oberlin team for trying, but feel bad for them.  Not sure it's a safe situation.
