Quote from: BigRed55 on October 11, 2026, 02:52:24 PMIt's good to see two NCAC teams in the Top 25 and another two receiving votes this week, but I'm wondering how Wabash made the list and not Denison.  Both are 4-1.  Denison won the head-to-head last week in Granville.  Wabash won its non-conference game vs. Hampden-Sydney; Denison lost its non-conference game to #12 Hope.  Each team's other conference games have been against the bottom of this year's table.  Seems pretty even, but Wabash gets the recognition.  I have to believe that is due to program reputation and the fact that neither is actually in the Top-25.  For this Denison fan, though, it's frustrating.  It would be great for the Big Red to get more credit than they do.

You make a good point and even as a Wabash fan, I think you are correct.

Patrick Coleman

Good catch. That was cast in error and was meant to be WashU instead of Wabash. I've made the correction and thankfully it doesn't affect the order of the poll.

Wait a minute! Records matter, and not reputation? That's bad news for all the .500 teams in the WIAC.

Wabash Always Fights!

Whitecarrera

Wait a minute!  I make a good natured joke about the perception of the WIAC, and my post gets deleted?

Now that's objectionable!!!

How thin can someone's skin possibly be?

I didn't delete anything.

Is this your post?

Clearly it was my post.

Sorry - it was gone, but now appears to be back. I'll own up to my missteps if that's what it was.

All I can say is you must have just missed it. I did not delete, then restore your post. (Once deleted, a post can't even be restored, anyway.)

Great game so far at JCU. Wabash coaches had a clear gameplan from the start and the players have mostly executed. Night and day difference from the sloppy performance and questionable play calling at Dennison.

Outstanding video production for a D3 contest. Kudos to JCU.

Congrats to the Blue Streaks. Gritty final drive to to take the lead. That was a fun game to watch. Would love to see Wabash perform like that the rest of the season.

LG67

Too many stupid mistakes by players, some questionable play calling by coaches, and several officiating errors.

Whitecarrera

Twice in a row, Wabash snatches defeat from the jaws of victory ... and DPU puts 62 on Denison? Ouch!

Yeah they were using blackmagic cameras.

It was a good game - i honestly thought that with the great wall of china that jcu has for an offensive line they would win stagg, but nope wabash makes it close.

I thought the Little Giants had that one.

DePauw has Denison's number - six years in a row (although the last five were much closer).

I know people claimed JCU "Ran away" from Mount, when leaving the OAC; but I will die on the Hill that the NCAC is not only a better fit for JCU academically, but also for sports pedigree. When in the OAC, JCU had the Mount game and MAYBE a game against Heidelberg, ONU, and BW (though the rock has remained in University Heights since 2013, sooooo)..

And especially with the addition of WashU, the NCAC playoff representatives in the playoffs are far more prepared than most because you have 4 guaranteed tough conference games between WashU, JCU, DePauw, Wabash and Dennison. I am convinced that JCU was so well prepared for a Semifinals run last season because they all the above mentioned, save for WashU, on their schedule.

I fully expect the NCAC to continue to grow in pedigree from a football standpoint, because I do believe Dennison and Wabash will continue to grow and develop, and as long as the other three maintain where they are at, we could have WIAC type craziness of week in and week out games.
