OAS - You've been working hard on your website.  Keep up the great work!  :D

Drake - Nice job with the All-MIAC picks and I especially liked the added category of "All-Excitement Team."  I would  change the following with regards to your All-Conference picks.

CORD – Gets no one
GAC – Adam TeBrake and Phil Sowden
HAM – Jon DeRock instead of Kyle Foster
STO- Jon Bain instead of Mark Bergstrom

It's early, but I thought I would post my pre-game comments for Wednesday's slate of contests.

Saint John's @ Augsburg - Johnnies continue to roll against a rebuilding Auggie bunch.

Saint Mary's @ Carleton - The Cardinals will give Carleton a ball game but the Knights will pull one out again at home to keep the streak alive (15 with a "w").  Anyone know what the all-time MIAC consecutive game winning streak is?  ???

Concordia @ St. Thomas - Tommies win easily against the depleted Cobbers.

Macalester @ Gustavus - I'm awful tempted to pick an upset and go with the Scots, but the game is at GAC and the Gusties are still fighting for that third seed so I'll stay with the safe pick.

Bethel @ Hamline - "the game of the night" pits a pair of 9-9 teams fighting for the fifth seed.  Bethel had its way with Hamline the first time around and if the Pipers don't contain Meadowcroft and Fredrickson it could be a long night.  I think HU finds a way to get it done at home where they're    6-3 this season. Don't be surprised to see another up and down game that some might call "ugly."

And the Johnnie bandwagon rolls on...tomorrow it rolls through Auggie Tech. Is their place better than Macalaster's dump or do I need to bring a lawn chair? That's OK. Us football guys are used to watching games from lawn chairs.

St. Mary's hasn't had an all league player since 1999-2000 in Ryan Rankin.  Will they break that streak this year??

oAs, Yes i think they will break that this year. They have 3 guys who should and could be picked. From the SJU SMU matchup i would pick Terrance Smith. I heard Batterman's name alot this season but he just didn't do anything against the Johnnies so i'll go with Warren Sapp.

Watchmen,

Just remember to base your pick on a season, not a game.  They give player of the game awards for that.

Some of you need to pimp your profiles.

Could everybody on board the band wagon please move back a little? We have more people who want to jump on and we need to make room. Thank you. The attendant will be by shortly to take your drink orders. Please have correct change ready. We know you have a choice in choosing which bandwagon to ride, and we appreciate your choosing the SJU Express. Enjoy the ride.

Fins, Thanks for drumming up business for the bandwagon! Saw Frank R. at the last Johnnie game I was at. He spent as much time schmoozing with Gagliardi as he did watching the game.

Hopefully, the full bandwagon contingent can gather at Sexton next Saturday for the GAC game. It would be fun to see that place rocking like it was for the Tommie game!

Thats pretty good oAs, does the truck come with a keg of Hamms in the back or is it a BYOB bandwagon?

oAs, I like it. No windows in the back so the cops can't see in. Just in case we may pick up an unsavory characters along the way!!

Willy Wonka

"It's a funny thing, but I think it was losing at Gustavus (65-64 on Jan. 18) that was really the turning point," said junior Ryan Lieser, who has been on an offensive tear since switching from point guard to wing. "We had that game won, and we gave it away at the end, but it gave us a lot of confidence. It showed us we could play with anybody in this league."

If the Gusties need any more motivation for Saturday's game, there's something to throw up on the bulletin board - after Wednesday's romp over the Scots anyway. Not being able to hold onto an 11-point lead on the road is a sign of a young team. I guess we'll see how much they've grown up since then.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

OAS-
Judging by the time of your posts, you need more to do at work. I love it though. It's a good crackle on a tough day like today.

Thanks oAs, I would have been in big trouble without this one!!

Willy- I agree. Leiser's comment may be bull board material!  I think they did kinda boot the game away. They probably should have won. I think it will be a very very good game on Saturday. GAC and SJU will both bring "it"
