Nites, I think that's what is called a hit and run post from LostProphet! Wait til the higher ups on the board get a hold of him. ;)

Agreed, +k to that!

how did doble wind up at GAC?  Do the gusties recruit nationally or did a 6'7 post just fall into the athletic department's lap by way of the college in general?

Doble has grandparents I believe in the Owattonna (probably spelled wrong) area.  I don't know if that means he just knew the school had a good rep. or if he was recruited. My guess is that he may have contacted them and from there GAC followed some of his games or saw tapes? I don't know, just throwin that out there.

Gee, Sum.  Nice of Prophet to lob a hand grenade and then log off.  By the way, who's going to start in place of Brink and Fogt tonight?     :o :P

Fogerty and Dusha has one more semester left...

sumander

VOJ, The Fogt Conboy matchup should be a dandy tonight. I think If Fogt can stay out of foul trouble the J's will be ok.
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

::) ;D ??? 8) :o :-\ :-X :-[ ;) :) :-*.  .... I MEAN, DRAKE PALMER YOU NEED TO POST YOUR PICKEM PICKS FOR TONIGHT.

SKIBITTY YEAH YOU AROUND??? MISSING A COUPLE WEEKS OF PICKEM WILL START A HOLE THAT COULD BE HARD TO DIG OUT OF.

Well like they used to say back in the day – "F all y'all"   ;D

I mean really, this work thing is overrated. (How many more smileys can I "Drakeitimately" squeeze into one post?  ;)  ;D)

Thanks for the reminder Snow!

Sum – For the good of the cause, I hope you've made the decision to make the short trip over to Spud-town to check out the Cobbs & Gusties. If so, tomorrow we can guess which is our least favorite Cobber. (ok - no smiley, just a smirk)  Also check out Wittwer's new buzz cut.  He's got a couple of teammates that could also benefit from the buzz.  In addition to all the grooming sidebars & such, there could potentially be a very good game tonight in Moorhead.

Prophet – you could take a major karma hit with a "hit & run" post like that.  Fess up fella –what's up with Yazz Flute?  Or as Cmob once said in a defiant moment when he was getting bombarded by Karma snipers - "I ain't afraid of no Karma."   :)

apologies on the hit and run, I don't have the internet at work.  I am not 100% sure on  what was wrong with clute but it seemed to be a leg injury, and it was nothing severe, just maybe a game.  I know he had bad shin splints in the pre-season but i am not sure exactly whats going on right now.  Anderson suffered a concussion in the CON loss.

So Sutherland is playing???

Sutherland is NOT playing and will not be for awhile. I have heard he could possibly return sometime in late February but it is doubtful. I think lover took your post regarding the tough losses for CAR as guaranteeing a Piper win tonight and was just stating Zorro will only be missing tonights contest.

PTPer35

Prophet, I know we are supposed to fear the Flute, but who are the flutes going to pass to tonight?

MiacLostProphet

B. Hayes will be distributing the ball all around.  I would think Thrasher would step into his old form last year and score when needed.  I also would think that the bench will step up.  Johanson is a decent shooter and Zev Dunkujolic will have a great chance to step up.  Mike Kaiser has been in and out of the dog house.  I think we will see even more pipers logging minutes tonight.  Maybe we will see a Brad Brake sighting, he hasn't played much this year but with Anderson out he could also step up and play big.  It will be an interesting game tonight, wish i could make it down

Halftime - Carl 41 Pipers 30 at a M*A*S*H* unit kind of game.

Our friend sez it is Clute's knee.  That's what is going on and it just doesn't sound like good news in the land of the flute.
Is is March Madness yet?

basketballlover

CAR up by 11 at half. Hopefully they have energy left and go into prevent offense. Biewen is rocking on the 3's.

basketballlover

Who would have thought, CAR wins!! Told you not to count them out, lol. Rosett, Drake, and Biewen played great. Biewen had a double double, way to step up. He might not have scored in the 2nd half, but did other things to help out. With him doing well from the outside, it opened up the lane for the big guys. With Johnson back on Saturday and hopefully those guys continue to play well it will be interesting.

MiacLostProphet

ouch, Bum loss for the pipes.  Rossett has a huge game and biewen seemed to be a monster on the boards according to the stat sheet.  Thrasher ends up with 15, no one really stepped up for the pipes, they just did their usual and without Clute it isn't going to be enough.  I was hoping someone would step up and knock a few shots down.  Carleton played great w/o johnson or sutherland.  If these guys can keep it up they may be a tough team come down the stretch.

PTPer35

Carleton beats Hamline 84-65. The Pipers came out hot on 3-pointers but cooled off considerably. Thrasher made some tough shots but the offense missed the services of Clute. I expected Hamline to come out with tons of full court pressure considering the Knights recently lost both of their true PGs but it wasn't the case.

For a stretch the game seemed like a 3-point shooting contest but the game was eventually decided in the paint. Rosett had 24, and 3 others finished in double digits. Weischedel started at the point and Drake and Biewen mixed in a bit as well. The injury to Sutherland could benefit the Knights in the long run by in forcing others to handle the ball.

Side note: Anderson and Clute were dressed in their Piper windsuits while Zorro was looking sharp with a shirt and tie on the bench. Sutherland was getting surgery and wasn't in attendance.
