Pat Coleman, could you pump up kubiack's totals (warhawk78) so he has some privilages? please.

Done. I had to guess at the karma but the post number is accurate.

Welcome back, glad you're safe.

Thanks!

I'm back flash, just under a new name.

Welcome back to the boards, Kubiak.  Hope that means you are stateside and safe, for awhile at least.  Love the new moniker.  Can't have too many Warhawks, IMHO.   ;)

Speaking of transfers, does anyone know the inside story of the Brewster kid's move to WW? Is he not the son of MN coach Brewster? BadgerWarhawk, clue me in.

Fred,
Yes, he is the son of Minnesota head coach, Tim Brewster.  His biography on the website indicates the reason he chose WHITEWATER was "National Champs."   He's a transfer from Northern Arizona and I think another reason was that he wanted to be closer to his family.  Whatever the reason we're glad to have him and from what I've heard from the staff he is a player with a bright future.

Alright kubiack, are you back in the states?

On a related front,  I just got back from our "Touchdown Club" and the guest speaker was current Stout linebacker, Andy Towner.  Andy brought video of his time in Iraq and did a great job of relating his tour of duty with life back in the States playing football.  A class act.

Right, stoutguy! Andy was one of the Blue Devils that helped me move all the stuff out of my house when it was trashed a year ago in a major storm. He is a great young man.

And let me add my "welcome back" to kubiak as well.  8)

Hopefully he is not a tool like his father was at the same age.

Huh?

I went to HS and played football with Tim Brewster, he could be a real tool at times.

Obviously he wasn't the only tool in the class

Bisondad -

If your nephew has a chance to visit schools, he may be impressed with the new stadium that is being built in La Crosse? Is he considering any other WIAC schools? And, of course, it all boils down to what his academic pursuits will be... A visit to the school, and with the team/coach, is always beneficial if at all possible...

As others have noted, if he plays QB, his status at UWL may not necessarily be secure week-to-week.  ;)
UWL has had a rough last few seasons, but they do have a winning tradition; perhaps your nephew is the kind who wants to go to a school to help it get back on track?

Or is he one who wants to maybe be a part of a school that doesn't necessarily have the tradition that UWL does, and then can feel a sense of accomplishment when his playing days are over in knowing that maybe he and his recruites/classmates helped a school start to win???

Pretty sure BDB got stuck buying.

Just Bill

I'm a little confused.  That blog post was dated today (10/16), but I'm pretty sure the CFL season is down to their last regular season week.  Has he been on the team all year, or is he a (very) late season pick-up.

JB, I think the article said he was signed for next (2009) year.  They begin training camp in June. I never understood why the CFL signs players for the next year when this year isn't quite over yet.  The CFL is 37 days, 21 hours, and 57 min away from the Grey Cup game!!

EDIT:  The Head Coach of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Beavers' new team, is Ken Miller, former Head Coach, O.C, and D.C (not all at the same time, however), at the University of Redlands.

The Grey Cup is now 37 days, 20 hours, and 43 min away, in case you're in a countdown.   :D  Do Canadians have Grey Cup parties, like we do for the Super Bowl?

Yup, it's true.  And the picture of me reminds me that when you run with the big dogs you have to lift your leg a little higher.
