I think the pollster mixed it up when voting for UW-Plattville and UW-W.

It is now official ... Daryl Agpalsa has been named as the offensive line coach for the UW-Whitewater football team. The Waipahu, Hawaii native replaces Steve Dinkel who resigned earlier this summer to take an administrative job in the Jefferson, WI school district.

Agpalsa arrives in Whitewater after spending two seasons at the University of Minnesota as a grad assistant while obtaining his master's degree.  He also spent three years on the Hamline coaching staff.  The former consensus All-American offensive tackle at Linfield College also started his coaching career at Linfield.

I'm sure Wildcat11 can give us some additional thoughts on the former Linfield OT.

Daryl was a hell of a player, he's a great guy, and a hell of a coach.  Don't think UWW will be disappointed.

Does he have any eligibility left?

There have been some coaching changes at important positions this off-season- I look forward to seeing positive differences.

I like the hire. Anyone from Linfield will bring a lot to a team I think. Especially a former all American lineman.

Excellent hire!  I love his aggressive play, multiple pancake blocks, the video and the island music, 11!  ;)  A huge welcome to Coach Agpalsa!

Someday, UW-Milwaukee is going to look backwards and say, "You mean we could have had THAT guy?... TWICE?"

I'm sure the UWW chancellor has a short list of candidates if/when the day comes that Plinske leaves. I wonder who's on that list?

To the U WW insiders
This isn't the first time or school Plinske's name has been mentioned and for the past few years Coach Leipold has been mentioned as a finalist for another job I know both are well paid by WIAC standards and have a great programs and support why leave is it,
1. money
2. prestige (They have plenty of it at the D3 level but are considered big fish in small ponds)
3. It's easier to climb the ladder than to stay on top
4. Are there any problems on the horizon?

palum...

Not sure if I qualify as an "inquiring mind?" I'm not even sure at times if my mind actually works!

As far as your question is concerned, Lance Leipold's incredible record at UWW and Paul Plinske's resume at Whitewater creates wide ranging interest. When school's  go "outside" to find applicants and have national job searches performed by off-campus search agencies, Leipold and Plinske are names that will surface high on lists.   Do both want to remain at UWW? I for one hope so!!

I think it comes down to career goals. Both LL and PP are clearly open to seeking "bigger" opportunities.  I don't get the sense either is "eager" to leave Whitewater, but in today's information age, their inquiries at other schools have been pretty public.  My guess is they both are keeping their options open and the right situation would have to come along for them to leave.  I'm not sure what you mean by problems on the horizon, but I am not aware of any internal or scandalous type issues they would be running away from. They are both men of integrity that do their respective jobs the right way.  One thing for sure: if either of them leave, they will be missed!

I agree with Voice, well said BP.  From my contacts with both I know that they like WHITEWATER but they would be foolish to pass up the right opportunity to advance their careers.  Neither is going to take just any job.

I'd hate to see Paul leave but wish him the best of luck if this opportunity is what he wants.   UW-WHITEWATER is in a much better position because of him.

To be honest, the Nebraska-Kearney seems like a lateral move, rather than a move up. Yeah, it's DII, but it's not an impressive DII either academically or athletically. Maybe he likes the thought of building a program at another level to add to the resume. The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if there's some UNL connection. Sorta, show us what you can do at a DII state school and we'll see about an associate AD position at Nebraska. I only say that because of the Whitewater connection through Eichorst. Probably not worth the virtual paper its typed on  ;D
