Either the transitive property sucks or a score of 38-20 simply can't be trusted!  ;)

Who would have thought there is a team with a worse kicking game than UWW. St John's with 3 blocked PAT's, one returned for a defensive two-point conversion & one in OT. And passing up 3 short makeable FG attempts to go for it on 4th down, but fail. Lose by 1 in OT. Thought for sure it would happen to us; there's still games left, so who knows. Glad it was them today.

Was thinking the same thing. Ours is bad, but not that bad. I feel we've been much better on extra points the last few games, but still bad on FGs. For SJU, that's just.....wow

Their QB throws a good ball. Although there's a couple completions he got that I'm still not sure how our DB's missed.

I know how UWW's DB's missed them, but I know you don't want to hear about it so I shall remain silent.

Awww...see there! A kindler, gentler BoBo. Doesn't it feel kind of good? ;)

Just saw Coach Fasching of SJU say they had to move on and "prepare for Hamline." Prepare for Hamline? SJU could take the week off and still beat Hamline! Too bad the WIAC doesn't have a Hamline. RF might get a conference win!

Hamline is buh-ruhtal. Watching today was just painful. Bethel went up 42-0 in the 2nd quarter. Pulled starting QB, scored to make it 49-0. Pulled starters, scored to make it 56-0. Honestly, 100 pts was within reach if we hadn't called off the dogs. 11 total yds for Hamline, 400+ rushing yds for Bethel.

SJU could trot out their 3rd string and still win by 21. Cobbers record was ugly, but they have a good D and played UWL and UWW tough. Hamline is one of the worst MIAC teams I've seen in my 20 years of playing/coaching/watching the MIAC.

And it actually worked out earlier this year that we were out there the same time to watch my UWO bball team win the championship. Game wasn't on TV. But I actually got the MGM Grand to stream it and project it on one of their big screens. They were happy to do it considering we had a big group and had a bunch of money on the game. We covered the spread, so all was good. Team should be good again this year. Only lost 2 starters. Preseason ranking #2. Should walk through WIAC. With only Platteville giving  some competition I'm guessing.
So anywho. To get off the bball topic I have a question for y'all. What do you guys think of the moving of the championship game from Virginia to (Texas?) (then Ohio? ) believe? I know there was an article written on this site a while back about the whole thing. But, should they have moved it? Is it great they are moving it around? Was it a money grab? Too see better football in a warmer environment?
And did any of you UWW fans get a chance to make it out to Virginia? Fun? Any great stories? I know a few years back I looked into it when UWO made the title game but it was out of my price range for spending 1 night there watching 3 hrs of football. Seemed like a lot layovers and traveling in a car.. And I think oshkosh ran some buses out there, but I wasn't about to sit on a bus for what seemed like forever.

Salem was an awesome host and and an awesome time.  It felt like they fully embraced the game and helped make the entire week special for the teams and the fans.  There was a bar that embraced UW-W fans to the point of putting up our memorabilia year round. They were awesome and Salem was awesome.

For the record, I loved your story. It was great. Emma was right. I get giddy when people make fun of him. But no reflection on you at all. Love your posts!

Hey Bofa, we are fortunate to have lots of stories about UWW in Salem. One of out trips was the 2009 snowstorm Stagg. My 13 and 12 year old sons made the drive with me. 31 straight hours in the Tahoe. Thank God they delayed the start time to the afternoon, otherwise we would have abandoned the truck on the highway and hitched a ride w snowmobilers. One of the greatest games we've ever watched.

A big part of today's field goal miss was the lousy snap imo.  We were lucky Cooper even got the ball down in the first place.  I watched Gonzo warm up before the game and he was nailing kicks from as far as 42 yards. At one point 7 straight before I moved on.  Then he gets in the game and a nasty snap throws the timing of the play completely out of kilter.

Safe to say WIAC is a one bid league again this year?

Not yet. A very plausible scenario would have the top MIAC pool C candidate with two losses. Still a bunch of 1-loss candidates out there but crazier things have happened...

Yeah, I agree. The snap was high and it definitely through the timing off for Gasienica. He had to stop his approach and wait for the ball, and almost kicked it standing still with no forward momentum. There was another bad snap on one of the extra points. The ball almost rolled to Cooper, but he did a great job of fielding it on the short hop and got it down in time for the kick.

Yes, Gasienica has struggled, but the snaps are doing him zero favors this year.

You need to keep your mouth shut!  You all but guaranteed an SJU win over the Cobbers, too.  :'(

St John's with 3 blocked PAT's...
These kicks aren't even getting blocked, unless you count a kick as being blocked when it hits the o-lineman in the back.  It'd be mildly amusing if it were another team, but this is just sad.

And the return for 2-points?  Pretty sure everyone in the stadium thought that the play was blown dead, but apparently, no whistle was blown.  No excuses as that game should not have been close enough for it to matter.  The Js half-assed that one, and the Cobbers showed up to play.

I thought it was your fault for being so nervous about the game. If you're nervous again we won't know what's cursing them, my confidence in their victory or your superstition about overlooking opponents  ;D

True, the FG kicking has been atrocious, but the snaps to the QB on downs 1-3, to the punter or holder on placekicks has been even worse.

Aw, cheer up Hombre. The football team you cheer for is 188-15 since 2005. Even though it's been a bit, no team has won more Natty's than UW-W since 05. This year's team has as good a chance as any in the field to win another.  Is there another sports team on earth you could have followed who could have been as good to you?  How about a smile every now and then. We are blessed, brother!
