For the record, I don't think the weather will be a problem for the CRU. I think the problem for the CRU will be the Warhawks.

Now they're saying gusts of over 40 mph (w/ steady winds of 20-30), and temps falling to near freezing later in the day. 70% chance of snow in the morning. That windchill is going to be brutal, folks.

Gotta like the chances for a team from Wisconsin playing in typical Wisconsin December weather against a team from Texas, where 60 is probably cold and 50 is frigid.  ;D
a note to people from Wisconsin, Minnesota, and other places north of the Red River. It gets cold in Texas. Every year. Not normally last February cold for a long stretch, but it gets cold. In Abilene it snows, every year. In the pan handle it full on winter and blizzards on the coast it's usually mild. Was it 83 today, yes was it 30 when I fed the chickens Tuesday also yes. 50 is not frigid. 50 is still shorts and hoodie weather. Thank you for following my Ted Talk.

This actually made me chuckle a bit. 30 isn't cold, that's flip flop weather when I walk the dog.

I bring the family to Wisconsin every January and I wear multiple layers of expensive wool and fleece in addition to my wind proof coat, gloves, hat, etc while the natives are wearing jeans and a fleece-lined flannel.

Yeah, feeding chickens is one thing. Trying to throw a football in 40+ mph ice cold wind gusts is another.

Don't waste your time explaining 02.  It's a hopeless cause. My brother lives in Texas, I know first hand.

To all my friends on this board

Good luck in your game tomorrow. Always nice to play at home.
I hear it's supposed to be very cold there. Alliance is forecast to be 63. That's the good news. The bad news is that comes with an 80% chance of rain and strong winds (gusts up to 60 mph).
Would love to see a UWW - UMU Stagg Bowl. We've had some good ones. Quite frankly, your chances are better than ours. But, who knows?
I'll close with - Go Warhawks and Go Raiders!  8-)  ;D

Agree. I have no issues with us meeting for the 10th time in the Stagg Bowl.

I wonder if you polled UWW fans who they want to face next week in the Stagg (should they survive a worthy opponent tomorrow). My guess is more would want to play NCC for the revenge factor from 2019. Playing UMU is more of a "been there, done that" experience.

All but one of the D3 guru's picked UWW tomorrow. But everyone anticipates a close game. All within one score, which seems about right.

All of them picked NCC, some by a couple of scores. No surprise there...I would have to agree

Assuming that weather prediction holds. What team does that favor??

02 Warhawk

If the weather and high winds were to play a factor, I would think 100% favors UWW.

Tough question and one I wrestle with. For starters, of course UMHB is an awesome opponent and nothing is taken for granted, but this is only a question that can be asked/answered a week in advance though.

For me, MT would not be a "been there, done that" experience. The clashes between these programs have been outstanding and I can't imagine ever growing old of them.

As for NCC, the thing that weighs more on me than the loss is the way UWW clearly lost the battle of physicality, something I just don't recall ever seeing. Even as tough as Greenfield is (and I  acknowledge he is a beast), I was surprised UWW defenders got driven back as often as they did. Because of this, I think a rematch with NCC gives UWW a shot at proving its true physicality.

I'd rather the season be extended one more week and have UWW play them both.

USee

I think UWW has its toughest challenge this week against MHB. Mary Hardin Baylor has the athletes to counteract UWW's greatest strengths. Weather may affect some of that advantage if those boys come out wearing sleeves, lycra leggings, and hand warmers, bet the house on the Hawks. If the Warhawks survive tomorrow, I have them as the favorite next week against anyone coming out of Alliance.
