Quote from: olddog on November 26, 2025, 11:55:17 AMFred....how many point favorite do you have RF over CU?

You are correct about the size issues it is a huge delta, CU is smallest good team on the west coast, always have been. In watching a little tape on RF, the only thing that will be interesting is CU speed, how much faster are they then RF...RF should win this one. Will CU team speed give RF an issue and how will RF coaches adjust, most teams try to run straight at them, play action etc.

You're assuming CU has more speed. My money is on UWRF having the edge in size AND speed.

I have to/like to believe the UWRF experience will help UWW in this game.

Yeah, this would be a layup for UWW back in their hey day. Nowadays, this is very winnable for DePauw. No longer taking UWW wins for granted.

Just hope UWw comes to play.

RF over CU by 21 seems conservative, but safe. Agree that size and speed advantage go to Falcons. Also realize comparative scores, conference strength based predictions are shaky.

Even if this would have been a layup back in our "hey day", I'm pretty sure you would have talked yourself into being nervous by kickoff!  ;)

True story

GBMAN

As of now, Whitewater is under a winter storm warning and it is currently snowing. How that changes the game plans for each team is up in the air.

What are everyone's thoughts on the overall success we might see from the WIAC today?

4-0? 3-1? 2-2? 1-3? or a dreaded 0-4?

Call me crazy, but I don't think a 4-0 slate is out of the question...

Anyone got snow for their games with the storm that is going through?

cubs

La Crosse and Hope each turn it over on downs once in the first half, but other than that it was all defense as the game goes to the half tied 0-0...

River Falls turns it over on downs their first drive and then gets a Blaha TD pass on their second drive to take an early 7-0 lead.

Platteville drives deep into Alma territory on their opening drive but settled for a FG despite having a 1st & Goal situation at the 7-yard line. Alma answes with a TD drive of their own as Platteville trails 7-3 in the second quarter.

Whitewater and DePauw battle to a scoreless first quarter though DePauw was in position to score but the Warhawk defense got a 4th down stop. Whitewater got an INT but did nothing with it. DePauw has a sustained drive to open the second quarter to take a 7-0 lead.

I've got an early feeling that the WIAC goes 1-3 today. Just a feeling.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Halftime Scores
DePauw 10 Whitewater 7
(Warhawk defense holds DePauw to FG despite 1st & Goal from 6-yard line to end the half.)
Platteville 10 Alma 7
River Falls 34 Chapman 7

Final Score
La Crosse 9 Hope 7
(La Crosse defense gets a 4th down stop with the game on the line to hang onto the victory.)

WIAC kickers as a whole struggling with the conditions today. A missed FG and a pair of missed extra points thus far.

Yeah, smelling like a UWw loss here. Depauw more disaplined and have a better game plan. Onto next year.

Glad I decided not to make the drive out there for this

cubs

Whitewater with over 100 yards in penalties... If they lose, currently down 23-17 in the 4th quarter, look no further than this stat...

And their defense can't get off the field on 3rd down. FG here and it's over

Ha! Fitting end to the season. Hopefully the QB play is better next year.
