I remember a Stout assistant telling me after they had played UWRF when Owen Schmidt was there, that in the handshake line he said to Schmidt "you don't belong here."    Schmidt replied with something like" I won't be next year."

And he wasn't.

I realize UWRF is potent and comfortable taking risk, but man, I wonder if you don't tone it down a notch when you get to this point. Especially in light of the fact that your players aren't making the plays they normally do, many drops by the receivers and a DB.

I think they are fortunate to be down only six at half. Sure hoping they come out in the second half and make the plays they are capable of making.

Tip of the cap to Johns Hopkins as well, an excellent game plan on both sides of the ball.

Is there anyway to get the cuss-spewing RF fan away from the broadcast booth?
What an obnoxious dufus.

I just lost 3 years of my life due to stress. Holy moly, what a game.
Congratulations Falcons, you showed incredible grit.

Congratulations to the Falcons on a hard-fought win.  Really showed what they were made of.  Blaha is simply amazing.  Good luck in the Stagg.  Blows that the Stagg is not for 3 weeks (plus 1 day).  And on a Sunday?

Congrats to the Falcons and to fredfalcon. Bring home the trophy.

That makes three teams from the WIAC to make the Stagg Bowl over the last nine years/eight editions. Impressive to say the least!

Congrats Falcons and Fred!

I've seen River Falls in person and streamed and they are obviously impressive.

John Hopkins impressed me with their balance and is right there at the same level.

What a crazy, entertaining game.

Congratulations Fredfalcon. You stood by your guys through thick and thin. Enjoy the rest of the ride!

Thanks all you posters who congratulated UWRF. Much appreciated. Will have to step up another couple of notches to beat NCC. We will not be favored.

Fred, are you going to Canton for the Stagg?  I highly recommend it.  For other than a few teams the opportunity does not come around often.

Two weeks and one day. If they held the game on Saturday, that would mean players are traveling on New Year's Eve and they don't want to do that.

That 2 weeks and 1 day should help the Falcons heel up.

I'm sure NCC has key players that will benefit from some rest as well.

After watching a full game of NCC, it's clear they are good at everything. UWRF will have to be sure tacklers, JCU gave up a ton of yards after missing tackles.
