Coach Walker thinks Falcons can repeat next year, but missing two transferring offensive stalwarts plus  Blaha will not not make it easier. Also, Walker admitted on KFAN interview yesterday that he has received offers to coach other places (not specified). Not surprising.

Walker's stock will never be higher; he should go unless he wants to be a D3 lifer (nothing wrong with that, just no $). I think the chances of me dating Sydney Sweeney are about the same as UW-RF going back to back nattys after being what they were for decades.

Seems like a really really risky hire by Drake. Good on Walker for taking the shot when it came, as it was probably a once in a lifetime opportunity for him.

Wishing Walker the best. Drake, you know awesome. But let's face it. Drake? Would RF beat Drake? IDK, but I"m sure it would be a game. I saw he mentioned the right place in interviews. I would assume Drake offered a salary he couldn't refuse. Didn't take D coord? Maybe he chose to stay. But, it Interim tag makes it for hard recruitment. Wishing Wessig the best. UWRF to stay toward top, but maybe better for UWRF to have a new Coach than an interim.

Not sure I get the read that going to Drake isn't a good move ... they won their league, and outside of a close game against UST and the power Dakota schools, beat everyone else to end up 8-4 at the FCS level. UWRF would not have beaten Drake.

For Walker, he jumps up to a level that still sits in recruiting territory he knows well. And if he can win a playoff game at a Pioneer League school doors will open. Just look at Drake's most recent HC, who didn't even win in the playoffs.

I do think the real question is, will Walker and the offense look the same without a Blaha behind center stirring the drink.

Not surprised the DC stayed behind. I've no inside information but I thought it was an interesting story that Wessig was asked to move from OC to DC when they decided on Top Gun.

Conference play will begin week three, there will be a conference bye week 6 and then week 10 will be pit 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, and 4 vs 5. The regular season champion will be declared after week 9.

If so, it appears to be news to the coaches, some of whom are looking for games on Week 3 and 4 of 2027 and 2028.
