Whitewater just posted the 2026 roster.  What a program in disarray. 7 Running Backs.  5 Freshman - 2 seniors.  Why do so many players drop from the team?  DB's 10 Freshman - 3 sophomores - 3 Juniors - 2 seniors.
DLine same thing: 9 Freshman - 4 Sophomores - 2 Juniors - 3 Seniors.  Don't know if it's the culture of the team or poor recruiting.  Some of the Freshman have loads of talent.  Matthew Williams should be a receiver but is a DB.  Big test against River Falls week 5.  Hope they're ready.

UW LAX's roster makeup is similar in terms of percentages. So is UWRF's. UWW might be carrying a few more freshman, but it's not like UWW's roster is vastly different.

Matthew Williams is a 5'10" 163 pound freshman. DB sounds like it's a better fit right now. He played DB in high school.

Whitewater is returning 88% of its offensive production from last year. LaX is returning 67%. Both are lower on defense, but LaX is even lower still, returning under 50% of its production from last year on that side of the ball. So what if they have more seniors?

Way to move the goalposts.  Changing the subject when it doesn't fit with your statement.  Retention within a program matters.  Especially when it's in the WIAC and one of the more famous programs in D3.

Retention of production matters. It doesn't really matter if you retain a bunch of seniors who don't see the field in the name of retention.

Leipold would not have cared if he had seniors or freshman as long as he had players who wanted to get better every day and helped the program win.

Whatever you think the marker of a good program is seems to be off base. There could be any number of reasons they're low on seniors this year. But if they're good, and young, doesn't that signal a healthy program built for the future?

UW Oshkosh just listed the 2026 roster.  Demir Ashiru leads the team off with number 0.  If it's anything like last years game against Linfield, expect both Ashiru and Korth (number 1) in the backfield.

Peter McDevitt looks like a man among boys.  6 touchdown (5 passing & 1 rushing) in less than 16 minutes of play.  Those were perfectly placed footballs.  A long week to prepare against Coe.  Looking good for River Falls.  Packed house to start the game.  Don't know how long most of the students stayed.  Interesting that of the top six WIAC teams this season.  4 will most likely start Quarterback transfers from D2 schools. (Stout, Oshkosh, La Crosse and River Falls).

Players to watch this up coming season for the Titans:

Demir Ashiru - Enough said.
Ryan Sims transfer from University of Miami Ohio Grad Student WR. Didn't play much, only 5 games, but has great size.
Termarion Brumby DB Freshman 6'1'' 210 lbs.  Has some thump from his tape.  Speed, hands and can hit.
Elliott Turner III freshman WR.  former QB with great touch on his passes.  Good speed. Look for some trick plays with him on the field.

Players to watch on La Crosse.

Nolan Olson.  Bemidji state transfer.  Played 11 games last year with 3.5 tackles for losses.  Makes the front 4 immediately better.
Sean Ryan Freshman RB.  absolute burner runs a legit 4.5+.  Break away speed.

Don't know if you watched the game on the FREE WIAC network.  But what a good production.  Looked even better than High School game of the week productions.  Funny listening to the games now:

UWW's roster was updated. 19 seniors, AndrewB.

Their retention rate is roughly the same as all of the other WIAC schools.

73-7 final score not surprising considering spectacular ineptitude of Southern Virginia. The Knights could not get the ball into Falcon half of field entire first half.Falcon punter never used. McDevitt a better passer than Blaha, but not as good a runner.McDevitt did not play again after 5 minutes of second half.Falcons could have scored another td, but to Coach Wissing's credit he had them take a knee last 3 plays on about 12 yard line.

Falcon D absolutely smothering, considered to be their strongest point coming into season.

At Coe and Wartburg will be tough tests in next 2 weeks. Then at WW.
