ARC is incredibly down this year.

I think that it will be more competitive than it has been in recent years but I think that has more to do with the ceiling lowering than the floor rising.

Very disappointing nonconference performance from just about every single team in the league.

Well, the sub-basement got filled in, too, which helps in that regard.

Nobody was ever touting the ARC as being better than the WIAC, so I think we're probably OK there.

The highest Coe was ranked was No. 21.

Four WIAC schools were ranked ahead of Coe.

I think we're doing just fine there.

Catching up on this board a week after open-heart surgery.Thank you guys for the smiles. Trash-talking reminds me of years ago. I think we have a WIAC version of PurpleSuit on our hands.

On the football front. Watched River Falls. As the guys astutely pointed out on the d3football.com podcast, the UW-RF offense bears little resemblance to last year. Lots of two-tight-end. Didn't see emphasis on hurry-up. Very physical. Running back #24 is a problem. On the opening drive alone he completely trucked three defenders on about the first six plays. Incredibly physical. Their defense appears to have it all.

We never know how a season will play out and video can lie. But after studying one game, I'm very comfortable saying they are a very, very, very good D-III team.

Now that the non-conference is over, yes I understand that UW-W travels to Keystone, 19-5 is going to be the final results.
Not great by any means, but could have been worse.
Those 5 loses include:
Linfield over Oshkosh
Hope over Point
Hardin Simmons over La Crosse
St John's over La Crosse
Roosevelt (D2) over Stout

That Linfield lost this past weekend hurts the NPI a bit.
But on the positive, everyone of these teams in capable of winning their conference. That would really help the NPI.
Stout threw the ball 80 TIMES this past weekend against Roosevelt. Can't believe that was the game plan.
Best win was River Fall over Wartburg. 2nd best was Platteville over Springfield.
Looking forward to conference play. I plan on going to Whitewater vs River Falls game week 1. No rooting interest, so just hoping for a well played game.
