Don't understand the trash talk re: Peter Jennings.  Met him and some of his players a number of years back and I was impressed. If this is all just UW-W bashing him because he left them, then okay.  But it seems rather malicious. 

I'm from Point, where they left FB to die a long time ago. The Oshkosh coach who came over to try and fix it needed to be a coroner.

I got back to Point last week and see they are building a new track facility.  What is that costing the state?  At least FB plays on a common park field shared with other teams.  Anyone know the budget?

Jennings might be a good guy, but he under performed in big games at UWW, and UWO has sunk during his tenure. I was happy to see him go, to be honest.

Also the track project costs $3,870,000. They're fundraising for a lot of it, so I'm not 100% sure how much the state is on the hook for. But that's chump change with regard to the rest of the improvements happening on campus.

ChickenHoops- I'm curious as to your "This is D3 football- take a pill" comment.
I don't want to assume your meaning, are you saying winning shouldn't be prioritized by D3 programs?

From my perspective, the emphasis on winning should be spelled out/defined in an overall university mission or strategy statement, that includes expectations.
I don't know if UWW does this, but I do believe the success of the football program, especially from 2005 to 2014, greatly benefited the university overall. The publicity was amazing. Game attendance continues to be impressive.
As an alum, I very much want there to be high expectations for the program to compete nationally.
I agree entirely w Colin in that I was very glad Jennings left UWW for UWO. UWW has been searching for the right OC for 12 years now. I'm glad to see changes made.

Seems like you're talking out of both sides of your mouth. On one hand, bemoaning the lack of priority at UWSP to fielding a competitive football team, but then saying it's just D3 chill out.

They go hand in hand. Caring about and having opinions about all things, from coaches to facilities to recruiting go into success. "This is (just) D3. Take a pill" is a losing mentality. Winning programs care. The attention to detail and accountability doesn't just correlate to success in the B1G.
