I doubt anyone gets thru conference unbeaten.Falcons likely to play Fitzgerald at QB. He was very good vs Wartburg.

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

Fitzgerald always filled in well for Blaha as well. I have a ton of respect for that guy.

Not sure what to make of UWL but this a chance to show the WIAC they are a contender.

I'm still having nightmares of UWRF bombs for touchdowns. I don't think this game will have much of that. Can UWW move the Falcon Dline off the ball?

Looking forward to this weekend.

A huge challenge and the answer to this question may determine the outcome of the game. I think this game is all about the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

Thanks for sharing. Very reasonable takes. Falls has been impressive this year, for sure. They deserve the number one ranking in the country coming into this game. Saturday is a great opportunity for both teams!

Thanks for sharing, Andrew.
I've made a point of watching RF's videos this year and I concur with Bleed.  They are very impressive. They dominated Wartburg.  Beating them is going to be very difficult.

My opening week WIAC PREDICTIONS:
For entertainment purposes only

Point vs Eau Claire
Eau Claire should be hungry for a win.  Didn't win a conference game last year.  Strong passing game and strong running game.  Point isn't awful, program just isn't progressing.

Eau Claire 27   Point13

Platteville vs Stout
Stout could be 0-3 if not for a few plays.  Still, they jumped out to a 24-0 1st quarter lead against Augustana.  The team has great talent at the wide receiver position.  In a game I watched in person, Platteville gave up 143 yards passing to Springfield.  That's not bad in itself, but that was on only 8 attempts for a 17.9 yards per attempt.  Look for Stout to win a shootout late.

Stout 34   Platteville 31

La Crosse vs Oshkosh

Demir Ashiru is a better quarterback than Hass.  Oshkosh has the better run game.  Oshkosh is playing at home.  The rest of the teams are quite even in my opinion.  The last 2 games for Oshkosh were impressive.  930 yards of offense for UW-O vs 405 yards for Alma and Coe.

Oshkosh 30  La Crosse 20

River Falls vs Whitewater
Points will be at a premium.  River Falls misses Rohrer and Hilton.  Don't believe River Falls will beat Whitewater with the deep ball.  Both teams will be run first.  Only way Whitewater wins is by keeping River Falls defense on the field.  I know that sounds crazy.  Over the last 5 years, Whitewater hasn't lost a conference game at home by over 3 points.  Look for that to ring true here.

River Falls 23  Whitewater 20

Some exciting news for WIAC Football.  This season 7 games will be aired Live in the Madison, La Crosse & Eau Claire local TV network.  No Internet needed and on easy to find channels.  In Madison it will be on CBS 3.2 & Charter 14.

Bold- I like the rationale for your picks. Obviously hoping the UWW score is reversed. Should be a slugfest. Using a Bleed term, if WIWA, the Warhawks win a slugfest.

Emma and I being on the same page is a good sign for opening WIAC Saturday. I just noticed this (really!), but the reverse score is my exact prediction!

BOOM!!!!!

That ends that narrative that UWW beating only bad teams. What a turn around from last year. Great game by the defense. Ways to go still but HUGE first step towards a division title.

Dare I say, bleed....

....WIWA?!

Yessir!!!!

palum

Platteville survives the trip to Stout 31-27. Platteville got a scoop and score and a pick six in the 1st half. That put Stout in a hole they couldn't get out despite out playing and out  gaining Platteville in the 2nd half.

AndrewB

38 yards passing for UWW.
56 yards rushing for UW-RF
2 GREAT DEFENSE'S

GREAT GAME

WIACer

Good win for Warhawks. Very good Def. Offense is ok. Running game from Freshman is tough. RF great national championship Def, Offense is sputtering. Lot of downfield throws when you only needed 6-8 yards. First-year offensive coordinator showed. They are certainly not the top-gun offense anymore. More of a traditional offense on pace. Gonna be a mess at the top of the leaderboard. Who will be on top? Could be any of these teams or Platteville.

AndrewB

The freshman running back was the game's MVP.  3 touchdowns.  One huge run on a long 3rd down.

How to beat the Warhawks. Jump out to a lead and make them a passing team.
