To Plattville play by play announcer - can you call the game without yelling into the microphone?

WIAC champs!!! #40!!

Might be the biggest road win in quite sometime. I was unsure about this one going into the day but huge win the Hawks!

One more to run the table. Didn't see that coming back in August.

Very gritty win for the Warhawks. Impressive. Congratulations. Having Novotny to close out games is special.

At the time, I thought UWP's decision to be aggressive before halftime was a mistake. The pick six was the difference.

Agree.  UWP made other mistakes in this game too, can't have those against a good team.  The aforementioned pick six, missed short field goal, BAD decision to not kick onsides after late TD.  Poor pass D showed again in this game.  UWW was the better team today.

Hats off to the WARHAWKS offensive line.  After allowing 2 sacks on the first 3 plays and a pair of three and out possessions they pulled it together led a 99 yard touchdown drive, an 80 yard touchdown drive and with one exception kept the Pioneers out of Klinkner's face the rest of the way.  If Klinkner has the time he can put up some numbers.

I don't mean to take anything away from what the other units on the team accomplished. The defense played very well forcing 2 turnovers on downs, a missed field goal and essentially shutting down the Pioneer run game.

Just an outstanding effort by all. The axe is ours for another year.

It's not so much that I particularly enjoy it... but it's how I've always called games. I get excited. It's a producer's nightmare to work with me because of that. I don't know if I've gotten better over the years but I definitely haven't gotten less excited, haha

Outstanding game today by the Warhawks (and UWP too).
UWP is very good and imo has a chance to go a long way in the playoffs.
Some thoughts on this one:
-UWW Oline did a good job today against an excellent D. I felt the four sacks were all play Klinkner held the ball too long, he had time to get rid of it.
-That said, Klinkner made some great throws and he's Great at picking up short yardage.
-UWW had a couple balls bounce their way, but sometimes that's the result of players being in the right position.
-UWW D played a great game against a team with excellent receivers and QB. Cortez for coordinator of the year!
-UWW stuck with a four man rush most the time, no sacks but bend and don't break worked.
-Great to have #8 back at LB- he made some big hits.
-I was put in a bad spot. 4 mins left in game and the doorbell rings. New neighbor wants to get to "know more about us". He wasn't leaving- not much of a football fan.
-This team looks more like the teams of the championship runs. Missing the go-to big time receivers, but they have mettle.
-This has been a heck of a regular season, I sure hope the confidence and momentum continue to build.

Way to go Warhawks!

UWStout announcer was similar. Calling for a UWW penalty every other play. Screaming when anything went Stout way.

Like listening to a cheerleader.

I personally know both of these play-by-play announcers, and they are both excellent pros at doing football as well as other sports.

Before ever casting any judgement, I challenge you to sit in front of an audience for 4 hours and describe what you are seeing while dealing with any technical issues, hitting your station ID's, commercial breaks and live promos. And try doing all of that while being accurate as to time, down and distance, who's in who's out and on and on and on.

Oh, and sound like you are interested in being there, just like the audience is interested in tuning in.

I'll bet most or all of you would be like me in trying this job, boring and clumsy. These announcers criticized here are certainly not that.

(side note to Jimmy K, BW, fred falcon, Pat C, and anyone else on here that was lucky enough to know him, Stoutguy passed away earlier this year, in case you hadn't heard. Talk about a great color guy! He was also my best friend. Miss him on the radio and in life.)

Congrats to UWW and all its supporters. UWRF will not make the playoffs unless something not likely happens next Saturday.

Thanks, Fred.  Not bad for a program in "total disarray" and cowering from competition a couple of months ago. lol
