"The former all-conference tight end at Loras promises to preach aggressiveness at West --- on both offense and defense.

"Offensively, we're gonna be a high-powered, up-tempo, fast-break offense," Moore explained of his balanced, spread attack. "My offense is playmaker-friendly."
Aaron Kampman on Coach Ed Thomas
I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Good luck to him.  First time I have seen another team who are also the Warhawks so I will be rooting for them.  I especially like his guote about offense.

Wow, missed that.  Talk about selective reading.  ;D  What is a Wahawk?  A hawk who avoids conflict?   ;)

So, off the top of my head...Coe Kohawks, Loras Duhawks, Waterloo Wahawks, Waverly Gohawks

Any others in our state???

West Delaware kept it simple -- WD Hawks. No prefix needed. ;D

And after they made such a big deal about getting a new coach last year.  ::)  Guy was a hall of famer in Illinois and had an 83% winning percentage, plus his D1 prospect kid at QB.  If a guy like that decides he can't win at West High, I don't know how well things are going to go for Mr. Moore.

Iowa City High - Little Hawks

The Waverly- Shell Rock Gohawks came about when Waverly and Shell Rock schools merged. Waverly were the Hawks and SR were the Gophers.

the guy got a ton of flack for starting his kid (soph) at QB, even though there was a better qb that was older and more experienced.  his kid sucked, either finally got yanked or got hurt, the kid that should been starting came in and won a couple games, and got the MVP of Waterloo Metro Football (Wateloo East, West, CF, Columbus, and NU High).  West hasn't had the best of coaching choices the last couple time around.  they have had atleast 4 (including this one) after replacing a guy that was there for a good amount of time since i graduated highschool in 03.
