Interesting game analysis for the Central/Luther match-up this weekend. Has anyone heard whether or not Sheredan will be suiting up for Luther?

The Show

Lance - considering Waldorf has only scored more than 1 TD in 3 games this year...I'm pretty confident in the Beavers.  Looking at the past box scores your "3" points for Waldorf looks to be pretty popular.

With Pearson a little dinged up, the lil' show should run wild up in Forest City! 8)

There must be something wrong with the site Pat or my computer...
How am I the first one to make a post today and it's 5:30..

Good win Knights, sounded like a rough start and a scary finish, but a W is a W.
Giving up a TD and not recovering the on-side in the last 2:00 doesn't usually = favorable momentum, but they found a way to win... Good work

what happened in Pella today?

Norsefan, you haven't mentioned me in a few weeks, is your crush on me over?

Thank you Central for beating Luther today 40-35, it sounds really weird to say that but that's what Wartburg needed.

Lance, good work on your prediction for Waldorf and their soccer team scoring 3 points again, BV managed to win 14-3

Loras had a nailbiter with Simpson, 15-7. Simpson got down to their 15 with 3:00 left but couldn't punch it in.  What's more impressive is Loras had 4 tunrovers and still won...they also snapped a 12 game losing skid to the storm....

The rams won a close game  against UDUBS, 25-21...

a lot of close games today in the IIAC...

Loras scares me a bit with WB going there next week...
Wartburg wins that and I feel real good with Central coming to Waverly for the IIAC Championship once again(don't like it that they have a bye week before that game, but what can you do)

LC65,

Got the crow heated up for me.  I guess I should have extra helpings.  You were right that it would be a high scoring afair.  I was right in the end when I said that if the Dutch scored 24 points or more that they would win.  Does that count for something.  Congrats ( if that is the right term to use) to the Norse for their never say die attitude.  They almost pulled off the comeback of the century.  They have a very good offensive receiving Corps.  That #10 should be all conference.  I truly think he is better than Kain from Simpson.  The Norse D was pretty weak but stiffened when they needed to.  Turnovers were the big key.  The last one killed them.  Congrats to the Loras squad for the big win.  Congrats for Wartburg winning and congrats to BV and Cornell for the wins.  Sounds like typical hard fought football in the IIAC.

Way to Go Knights!  The defense came to play today.  Big win for the Knights, hope they can ride the wave into next week.

Sounds like another great week of football in the IIAC

I think I will be in Dubuque next week to see the Duhawks battle the Knights. Maybe I will drag my Warburg alum brother along for the ride.

Wow, this was a great weekend in the IIAC.  And yeah, my prediction that Waldorf would score 3 points was right on the money ;)

For the record, is it true that every IIAC game this week had a situation where the team trailing was on the move with less than 1:00 to go?  Wow!! Win or lose, I think everyone got their money's worth.

WH - I caught the final three minutes of the game.  You and your partner in the booth made the cardinal error of talking about the ramifications of a win before it's in the books.  (I don't blame you.  When you're up by 10 with 2:00 left and have the ball, you'd hope that it would be a sure thing.)

But right as soon as you guys started with, "So, Wartburg will be in a tie for first place...," I was thinking, "Oh, no, what if they lose?" It's easy to get carried away, but try not to let your partner get too far ahead of himself. :)

OOOUUUUCCCCCHHHHH!

That one hurt.

congratulations wartburg.  It was a great game to watch, and you guys sure know how to throw a great homecoming.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Dutchfan2004, I don't know if you can really say the Norse D stiffened up. They couldn't get any worse.  :-\  Glad it turned out to be exciting game though.  I shut it off when it was 35-14, that and I lost radio reception.

Glad to see that Cornell could pull out the homecoming win.  To bad UD, maybe next year.

The D did get the stops when they needed to.  They did put the O in a spot to win the game.  I guess thats what I was talking about.

Did you get to the game? How did the Kohawks look?  Must have been a good game only lost by 3.  I also heard that they had a chance at the end to win.  You guys are still in the drivers seat.  If you take care of buisness you'll be in the playoffs.  I don't think with one loss you'll stay home.  If the Dutch can win out you get the automatic bid.  If we loose to Wartburg I think 9-1 will get you in.  Just got to take care of business the rest of the way.

This was a tough loss to shake off, but I'm moving on. Congratulations Wartburg. Your defensive effort was impressive. As a wise man told me after the game, all this means is Coe has lost its margin of error. Now the focus becomes winning each week's game and letting the chips fall where they may. I know the Kohawks will be primed for Dubuque after last year's debacle.

Dutchfan2004,

I did go to the game.  It was a great game.  Two interceptions were thrown into the end zone by Coe, one in the first half and one at the end of the game.   Wartburg did not show much in the first half offensivlely, but were a different team in the second half.  Also, footballs bounce funny, and did not bounce the Kohawks way.  That fumble recovery in the end zone for Wartburg's first TD was tough to take.  Without a doubt this game was won by the Knight's not lost by the Kohawks.  Wartburg should be proud.  Now, just like a dutchfan posted after the Central game we are hoping the Dutch beat the 'Burg.
As far as playoffs go, five spots are filled by automatic bid in the WEST, then you have Linfield making the playoffs for sure.  That leaves two spots.  I believe the MIAC and WIAC will get those spots.  Only the winner of the IIAC will get to the playoffs this year.  If both Coe and Central won out then we might have seen two bids.  I don't expect Coe to make the playoffs.
Anyone who considers themselves an IIAC fan should be at the Central vs. Wartburg game this year.
