I was going to say something profound for my 1000th post, but that would be totally out of character.

You could have tried irritating somebody!!!  What's the matter, not feeling well today?   :D

The fact that I woke up breathing irritates some people!

I hope your wife and kids are not in the some people !!!!!  ;D ;D ;D

Doolittle's kids aren't old enough yet but I have the feeling he'll be in this group as well.

Doolittle's kids aren't old enough yet but I have the feeling he'll be in this group as well.

Our youngest one turned 5 this week.  Our girls are rapidly approaching the "my dad is irritating" age.

It occured to me today that the previous 3 years I tuned in the Central/UD webcast during the 4th quarter of the game...just in time to listen to Central pull the game out for a win.  Being the superstitious man I am...I will go nowhere near a computer tomorrow until well after the game is over.  We're having a Scoobie Doo birthday party for our son.  After loading up on Scoobie snacks and getting our kids to bed just in time for me to tune in the Hawkeye game in Arizona I will get on here and catch up on the days IIAC action.  Crossing my fingers for a good UD showing...but not holding my breath.

Klompen

Doolittle, no lawn mowing tomorrow?  UD is doomed!   ;)

Enjoy the Scoobie snacks and the birthday party, I'm hoping that is the best part of your day.  I think UD will give us a very good game.  So far this year, we are a second half team, so I don't know if conditioning comes into play or we just are better at figuring out what the other team is doing and adjusting.  I will try not to worry if things are tight or worse at halftime.  It's the end result that counts.  Good think Vickers is 100% on field goal attempts this year.   ;D

Pat, unlike some others on this board, I have the utmost respect for you and your thoughts on DIII.  However, I sure hope your pick in the Triple Take for Top 25 team most likely to be upset this week is wrong.  I hope it is a day where the Dutch eliminate mistakes and pull everything together.  At the same time, I know that our pass defense can be a weak spot and am sure that Zweifel and crew would be happy to take advantage of that.  Would love to see Shane Wong make frequent introductions to the QB tomorrow.

Pat Coleman

Hey, no doubt -- my goal is to point out the possible, I guess, to propose something that might happen. There's certainly a way that Central could lose, though, and that was what I was getting at.

The weekend is starting early with a Thursday night game!
I have to throw this out there to get some opinions from the sidelines....
I have the highest respect for the coaching staff at my sons high school, but I find myself questioning his shifting of positions with the players.
Straight out, last game my son played crappy (along with everyone else). He plays center position. He was moved to guard and then during the game he was put back to center. Now he's being shifted to the tackle position (just told yesterday), wondering if he's going to be put back in the center or guard position. This is happening with a lot of other players.
This will be game three that this is happening? The killer is my son is not practicing in the position that he ends up in during the game. He only snapped the ball a few times during practice and finds himself trying to get in the groove on the sidelines during the game. I also talked to him after the games to review what was going on and his frustration is to the point where he doesn't even want to talk about it.
Part two of this is that the parents are looking towards me to answer what the coaches are doing? Like I have the answers? I falsely just voice my continue support of the coaching staff, when inside I'm thinking to myself what the heck are they doing?? The last game was just chaos.
I need to add that we have enjoyed two state championships, one finalist and have been the top finalist in the past six years. So the coaches must know what there doing...right?
I hope you don't mind the high school questions on a college board. My frustration is high.  ???

Go ask the coach.  It doesn't have to be confrontational, but no one can answer your questions as to WHY he's doing that other than him.  Better yet, encourage your son to express his frustrations to the coach so he can begin to develop the skills he needs in adult communications in difficult situations.  He needs to know what is gong to be expected of him and the coach needs to know this shifting around is taking the passion for the game from one of his athletes (must be a pretty good one too if he keeps moving around rather than being pulled out, my guess is trying to cover up for some others than aren't carrying their load.)
