Nathan Schwartzkopf plays for Blackburn. Is he the Generals son?

No, Gen Schwarzkopf's son is about 28 years old now.

My dad played high school football for the FREEPORT PRETZELS.

Let us not forget that in their first year in the NFL, the Green Bay Packers lost to the Beloit Fairies.

How about Chris Baer who plays for the Trinity (TX) Tigers ... I'm not lyin' !!

Think about the Wizard of Oz and it will come to you ...    ;D

RedandPurple:
I also went to high school in Freeport and played basketball & ran track for the Pretzels.  Graduated in '76 ... when did your dad graduate?
Trinity Tiger Football ... where champions compete on and off the field.

I wonder who his dad is...

You also missed the chance to mention #53 SO D-lineman Lyon Forage.  Together with Chris they complete the trifecta.

Some interesting past and present player names:

Present:  Colt McCoy, QB, Texas (No, Oklahoma doesn't have a Hatfield to duel with him.

Past:  Dusty Magnum, K, Texas (Kicked game-winning FG vs. Michigan--got a name that would work perfectly in a Louis L'Amour or Larry McMurtry Western novel.)

Jim Rockford, WR, Oklahoma (around the time JC Watts was QB,) There was the joke about when he was drafted, the pick required the most investigation.

Sirr Parker, Texas A & M RB, (Scored probably the most controversial TD in Big XII conference Championship game history back in '98 vs. K-State.)

           Ba dumm bumm. (Drum rim-shot.)

WLC alum,
do not get me started on the non-D3 crazy names, a friend and I exchange files on it every college football season, and we've recently expanded to basketball. Just some great stuff out there.

Keeping it D3, I see something at least once a week that should be on here, I just haven't been updating it. I guess I thought the thread was dead.

Just off the Draddy list I posted the other day there were a few cool unique ones:

Allegheny (Pa.), James Savage ... Savage is rough-like

Bates (Maine), James Walker ... Hold up. Jimmie Walker?

Case Western Reserve (Ohio), Thomas Brew ... "Hibbidy-hoo, crack a" Brew?

Johns Hopkins (Md.), Brian Nickel ... maybe someday he'll be a starter at corner, but for now ...

Salisbury (Md.), Wilhelm Leinemann ... I hope he can block

Redlands (Calif.), Jeffrey Gazaille ... I hope he's fast

Wartburg (Iowa), Nick Noble ... just reminds me of Nick Nolte, Nick Novak, etc.

This is probably inappropriate, but this one is way to interesting to pretend I didn't see it.

Capital's backup QB is named Marty Assmann.

Chances are he's either been getting teased all his life, like my friend Zach Weiner ("it's wine-err!") or is lovingly referred to by his teammates and friends as "the assmann"

K-Mack, I held a job once where before talking to each customer it was important that I first review their information and make a note of certain things, one of which was their occupation. Well, I would always abbreviate a few factoids and write these abbreviations on the front of their file so that I could readily have that info whenever pulling their file.

One day I'm discussing a customer with my manager (their file is in front of us) and my manager says, "I see he's not a "Boob-Guy." I ask him what in the world he's talking about. He says, "Well, you have "Ass Man" written on his file, so I'm assuming for whatever reason the guy told you that about himself and you apparently seemed to think it was important enough to write it down."

What I had really done was just abbreviated his occupation, which was "Assistant Manager." At that moment, it occurred to me there were numerous customers I had dealt with who were Assistant Managers (for some reason there are an inordinate number of people who like to list this as their occupation, regardless of what it is they really do for a living). To this day, there are still hundreds of files that I handled for this company with the words "Ass Man" written in big letters on the front of their files!!!
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Foss,
That's pretty funny. Even your manager's response.

The Scot gun rides again for all those in cahoots with Albion.   CWRU had a guy on their team in 98 named William Wallace,  Brehm sounds more Pennsylvania Dutch.   :)

the Duluth Eskimos

Speaking of Duluth, am I the only one who finds it hard to believe there was a saint named "Scholastica?"
