My 6th & 7th graders have a game, so I will not be attending the Mount-BW game on Saturday.  However, one of my coaching colleagues (he coaches the "B" team, and I coach the "A") is being inducted into the B-W hall of fame.  He was a MONSTER D-lineman in the late 80's, winning literally every honor imaginable during his time at B-W.

I salute you Doug Haubert!

Balloting is now open for "coach of the year" in a variety of divisions.....you can vote at www.coachoftheyear.com

FYI, to my amazement, Coach Kehres is on the ballot  ;)

Don't forget your picks.

If at all possible, please have them posted by Friday at noon.

Thanks
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I am going up to BW for the game and was wondering....does anybody remember the phone number for the will call window at the stadium? Somebody mentioned it last time BW hosted the game and I used it then. Got GREAT seats and absolutely no line to stand in. You had to use your credit card for the tickets, but it was well worth it.

As per the B-W website:

FOR TICKETS, please call 440-826-2140

Had a chance to look over the league stats and noticed ONU has scored 17 points and has given up 101 so far this season.  I realized the schedule has been brutal but that really jumped out at me.

I am on the Otterbein bandwagon.  Looks like they have great athletes at the skilled positions and have played very good defense.

With BW, JCU and ONU struggling it sets up for a real showdown when CAP plays the OTTERS.  Who would of thought this game may have playoff ramifications.....

JK

The Otters have always played us tough, as you know, pulling the upset in two of the last three.  I think them being this good is actually good for Cap.  Hard to not be up for that game, but we looked (sounded) pretty lethargic in those losses the last couple of years...

Here is a Sick Statistic (MTU Passing Completion %):

PASS OFFENSE             G   Att  Cmp Int  Pct.  Yds  Avg TD Yds/G
------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Capital Crusaders...  3   108   63   1  58.3 1020  9.4  9 340.0
2. Baldwin-Wallace.....  3   105   69   2  65.7  980  9.3  7 326.7
3. Mount Union.........  3    75   61   0  81.3  897 12.0 10 299.0

It might even rationalize the 81% if the average was for 3-4 yards per completion.  However, a number of MUC's passes have been to "vertically stretch" the defense.  The other sick stat is 0 interceptions, especially for a lefty!  BW and Capital stats are outstanding, but Mount's is surreal.

The Flaming Pile is slingin it...

105 pass attempts in three games?  What the heck is going on in Berea?!!?!??!?!

That program was built on a strong running game.  Lee J. would roll over in his grave....

One of my sprinters who also plays football for Mogadore had a career night last Friday, scoring on both a 71 yard interception return and a 23 yard run. As a result he has been nominated for the US Army Ohio Ironman of the week award which honors outstanding high school players who play both ways. I truely think that he deserving so if you have a minute and want to help me honor Mr McAvinew.. 8)

Vote early and often (you can only vote once an hour) :o

Congratulations to your young man.  Look at how all that sprinting has helped him with his football!!  Hope all is well with you and Kevin, 70'sraider.  BC is 1-3 and when Hampden-Sydney is through tomorrow . . . well it doesn't bear thinking about.  Our team is playing only half a game and that won't cut it.   We will be stonestationing (like my new verb?) before the game and cheering them on, but they are the ones who have to look within and put it together!!  Llamaguy is off in Cancun-nice place to be, but Homecoming is upon us.  The Hall of Fame banquet is tonight and I have about an hour to get ready and go clap for one of the best baseball coaches there ever was!!  Hope to see you in Dec. down in Salem.  It'll be old time week!!  Have a great season at Mogadore and, yes, at MUC as well!  Larry Kehres is just phenominal and that goes for his staff as well!!!

Capital taking it to 'Etta pretty good...

28-0 at the half, but could be worse as Cap has lost 3 fumbles, 2 of them after long pass plays.

Assmann has 225 yards passing in the first half.
