Thanks for the update Pat. I was kind of enjoying being "newbie" for a while.

How can you take Mt Unions 1 first place vote and give ie to Linfield when they haven't played a game yet? That Sucks!! Hey Raiders lets change that in a hurry!!!!  GO RAIDERS!!!!

Does this really matter?  You know that odds are Mount and Linfield are going to be there come playoff time, who's on (or in) first is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned right now.

I from deep in the heart of Texas and don't get much information on your conference.  How good is Mount Union compared to last year?  Also, there seems to be a lot of interest in Ohio Northern.  Are they for real?

That's an interesting way of saying he didn't go to class last spring.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Bill, Ohio Northern is FOR REAL. Through a combination of good coaching and recruiting they are a top D3 team. They have done all the right things the right way.

Bill,
I don't think anyone here can answer that right now.  Mount looked very different from last year, using the spread formation much more often and throwing a lot more.  They played a lot of people and made a lot of mistakes.  Some one sitting close to me said Mount was practicing one of every kind of penalty, ;)

Some one posting right after the game said it had the feel of a scrimmage.  With all due respect to Washington U. that may have been exactly what it was.  We'll know better after the JCU game, but may not have a difinitive answer until Cap comes to town on Oct. 1st.

Have not seen much on BW this year.  Just wondering how they looked last weekend.

I almost fell out of my chair laughing at this.

Toph:  We aim to please.......

Bill:  I would have to agree that's it too early to tell on Mount.  They should have better WR's with the addition of Garcon, RB's can't be any worse than 04 as Strauch and Ciccone were the least inspiring duo since the pre-Kehres days, O-line didn't look good vs Washington but it's the same group as last year so at worst it should remain the same.  The big ? on offense is QB.  Bruney showed flashes of brilliance  in 04 but was also VERY inconsistent.  Way too early to tell on the QB spot.  Week 1 didn't impress me while watching it, but the post-game stat sheet read well other than the 2 INT's.

Defensively, the D-line should be a strength and very similar to 04.  Secondary should be solid and similar to 04.  The LB core took a huge hit due to graduation, so that's an unknown right now.  The biggest ? on defense is at D-coordinator.  I've heard a million opinions on the loss of Monty, but the one that makes the most sense to me is as follows:  If losing Monty means that Kehres gets more involved in the defensive game plans, how can that be a bad thing?    I tend to agree with that opinion.  The defense should be fine, and in fact has a chance to be more to my liking as Monty's tendancies were to play conservative.  But I hate bend-back-don't-break defenses.

Did anyone notice that LK is not calling all of the offensive plays?  Matt campbell is doing some of it.  Also Vince is calling the Defense.

Wow, my karma is on the positive side and my posts are climbing rapidly.   Looks like Big Brother is asleep at the wheel.

For any Mount fans looking to get (or hear) a glimpse of the Raiders' week 3 opponent, Hope @ JCU will be on www.wjcu.org.  No matter what the "Now on the air" thing says, at 1 PM the pregame show will begin.  Kickoff at 1:30.

Well shoot, HSC, it's been about a week since you pushed me and pushed me and pushed me with your name-calling. If you're done then I'm done. I don't punish people for the past if they stop doing the objectionable.
