Thanks for the heads-up -- I updated our site to read 1:00.

We sent out an email last week to all of the schools to ask them to please double-check game times and the schedule on our site. The game time that was correct in April when we added the game apparently is no longer correct, and schools don't tell us when they change game times.

On the positive side, we did end up hearing back from about 80 Division III schools to say they had looked it over!

Wheaton web site had it as 1:00 PM all summer; Mount Union web site had it as 1:30 PM.

Now Mount Union web site has switched to 1:00 PM as well, and the FloFootball web site shows a 1:00 PM stream start time. So it seems like the earlier time is the one.

Game week is here! Mt Union/Wheaton renews a matchup that has been exclusive to the playoffs. Wheaton has never broken through vs Mt Union (0-6, all in the NCAA playoffs) and the most recent game is 2008.

For Mt Union I am interested in any preview from Mt Union fans. I know Kaleb Brown (18 TFL, 12.5 sacks) is one of the premiere defensive players in D3 and his counter part on the offensive line is  LG, Giovanni Kennedy, though C Mason Fortner is a formidable sidekick. The defense looks thin on returning players with Brown, DT Jackson Harris (33 tacks, 2 TFL), LB Weston Arthur (57 tackles) and Corner Zack Liebler (38 tackles, 10 pbu) as the returning starters. I'm sure there is talent, just don't know who they are. Offensively Maloney appears to be the heir apparent at QB, 2 OL mentioned above return, TE Matt Anderson (13 Rec, 2 TD) looks like he's back as well as WR's Nick Turner and Jerry Cooper. I also saw that RB's Darnell Williams and Shaun Thomas (6.3 YPC 5 TD) are back. Williams (8.4 ypc, 6 TD) was a very productive partner to Tyler Echeverry last year. WR Cooper (50 rec 3 TD) seemed to be the 2nd leading pass catcher with Turner (43 Rec, 6 TD) pretty close behind. It will be interesting to see how quickly Maloney integrates with the experienced WR's though having 2 experienced RB's and those two beasts up front will take some of the pressure off of him this week I would think.

For Wheaton, on offense we have a returning QB in Mark Forcucci (71% completions, 2,254 yds, 27 TD's, 4 INT). He gets the ball out quickly and can make all the throws. If he holds it and/or gets pressure, he is definitely less accurate. We have a talented and experienced group of WR's #4 Kortenhouven (58 rec, 10 TD), #11 Titherington (43 Rec 8 TD), and #3 Jewett are the main guys with TE #18 Juska (31 rec, 3 TD) a 5th yr Sr. 3 of those guys were hurt last year so you have to go back to 2023 for their production which is listed next to their names. RB is a weakness and will be by committee though there are a couple younger guys with talent. Our OL was below average last year in my opinion and this year, with HC Jesse Scott coaching them, they are much better but we'll see. LT #77 Kingsbury is the stud in this group.

Defensively we have our own DPOY in the CCIW in DE #54 Peter Johanik (19.5 TFL). He is a problem for most offenses. Our other DE #2 Kroger is a Mt Union transfer and very talented as a 2nd yr starter. The rest of our DL as some experience but still a bit unproven. Our LB's look good but how good is TBD. DB's we have 2 good safeties and some inexperienced corners. The defense is led by DC Mikey Swider, who is the namesake of our legendary coach who retired in 2019.

I'm not sure how good our defense will be but they will be aggressive and well coached. Our two DE's are the best playmakers on the field defensively and our QB and receiving corp are the strength of the offense. HC Jesse Scott runs the offense and he is a very creative play caller. I am worried we won't hold up on the offensive and Defensive lines in the run game which, to me, is always the key to success. We have the skill players on offense to play with anyone (RB TBD) and we have some disruptors on defense. This team has the benefit of playing a game in May in Portugal which is always helpful.

The Mt Union of old would reload and there would be no questions about the quality of the OL and defensive front 7 where they have limited returning players. I am sure the Raiders will trot out athletes on the perimeter as they always do. Very interested to see how Maloney plays. The key to the game is going to be up front on both sides. Both teams have some great returning talent and several open question marks. Hoping for a great game.

When two schools disagree on a game time, we usually trust the home team.

Excellent write up! Wanna join the SI dept at Mount?  ;D

Did anyone get flocollege yet to watch the OAC games?
I am only planning on keeping it for football.  Keeping it for couple of months for the football season costs just about as much as the yearly subscription price.
Hope it is going to be worth it.

I think that there is a better than good chance that neither of the two WR you mentioned will be the leading receiver (or even top two?) this season.  The WR room is absolutely loaded for Maloney, should be plenty of running lanes for Thomas, Williams, Maloney and Minner

Jerry Cooper Jr. was moved to Safety per the season write up. Meaning they are stacked at receiver and her wouldn't see the field or weak at safety, playing two way? either way, an interesting development.
Also Terry Glenn son is a freshman RB this year.

Cooper was a very physical wide receiver, he should be fine on defense

I remember Cockrell (WR) from Elmhurst. Fast--good player. Looks like Turner is still solidly in the mix with Cooper moving to Safety.

Yep, so, Canton told the NCAA they don't want to host a night game, and with that, we might have to accept a midweek day game.
