congrats to all the guys but I'm a little shocked to see Wyatt Stiehl and Zach Liebler get zero recognition.  Stiehl is third in TD receptions in the conference and is a big time blocking TE and nobody ever throws at Liebler.  I'd say stats matter, but...uh

At a minimum VK is on deck to be paid 7 figures to be a DC at a P4.  People can make nepo jokes but VK can flat out coach.  Toledo sucked on defense before he got there.  And as has been mentioned for Thanksgiving purposes he has a ring so gets a prime seat at the main table.

VK has always been a great coach who stepped into "impossible to fill" shoes in his dad and kinda filled them. No one is Larry, but he did a great job given all the circumstances. Taking Mount to the semi's in 20116 was really impressive.  The whole "...lost to a team who ended up being ineligible." thing is a bit besides the point. The CRU had a great team that year and I'm pretty sure they would have been just as great had the violation not occurred.

with a third string freshman QB, every QB that year was a true freshman.  If Fulford doesn't get injured early on and even if Poorman didn't get injured...things could have been a lot different in multiple places in the D3FB world

You want people to study the only season that Mount Union failed to win the OAC championship since 1991?

Kidding aside, that team really overperformed my expectations. The JCU team they lost to went on to beat UWW in the quarterfinals. Not only did Mount lose to an ineligible team they only lost by 2 points on the road, with their third string QB.

Yeah, I hate vacated games and titles. UMHB was the best team in D3 that year, nobody can take that away from them.  They are still the 2016 champs in my eyes, even as a Mount fan.
