I heard on the local radio (Columbus) that 2000 FBS players hit the portal today.  Shortly thereafter I saw a tweet from a D2 AD pointing out that for first time transfers in D2 only 30% find a new program and only 1/3 of those kids move up.  What a mess.

Wow... This is season will be interesting, that's for sure. I really hope we're out there recruiting coaches too and not just who applies. Go after some great football coaches!!

Congrats also to Brooks Jenkins who was hired by Candle as DT coach.

This seems like a bit of a fork in the road offseason for the program.  Can they inject some much needed energy into the program?

What would be tougher right now?
A. Be Dartt trying to hire a couple of assistants
B. JCU hire a head coach, who would likely bring guys in with him

We've talked about this before here, but Mount hasn't produced as many guys working their way up as assistants and continuously advancing in opportunities. Should be interesting to watch!

When's the last time a key Mount asst was hired away?  I don't count Collins to the Colts since that's a complete outlier occurrence and he came back.  Hearing two assistants were hired away I was borderline shocked.
