Not excited about the juice Kappas brings back? Let's take you back to 2015 when football practice took a turn..... https://footballscoop.com/2025/03/04/monday-night-raw-wwe-coaches-version-mount-union-style

Don't remember what Kevin Burke brought as a player (when we beat NCC).... https://youtu.be/INjPq2aHx3M?si=trb6R1mBvexdVaVu

the all-time great Jordan Lynch of Northern Illinois makes the CFBHOF, but Nate Kmic and Bill Borchert are on the outside looking in...makes perfect sense

Lynch was 3rd in the Heisman voting and took a mid-major team to the Orange Bowl. Dude was a beast as a dual threat QB. He had a great college career. No need to try to diminish him just cuz your guys didn't get in yet.

Literally all of the finalists had great college careers and were "beasts". But the all time, all division rushing leader should be a no doubter

Former all time, all division rushing leader unfortunately.

Dorian Grant told me on Wednesday he was returning to Mount Union.

Thanks for sharing and glad he's coming back to be the clear number one.

Grant being back is huge, hopefully this was a bit of a humbling experience and he's ready to be the next great Mount WR.  Ashby is your classic coach's kid, lunch pail, gritty, good hands slot WR.  Preston Smith played big-time HS football at Moe and showed some flashes in '25.  I would expect a WR transfer or three coming to D3WR-U as well, tradition long before the portal was even a thing

Dr. Acula

If they can get the ball to Ashby in space he can fly.  Not saying he's on this level, but it'd be awesome to see some Tim Kennedy-ish plays for him.

Braeden Friss, Luke Herrington in '17, Tim Kennedy in '15, Jack Nicholls in '12 and so on and so on.  Need that last guy in the gym, hard-worker, tough, salt of the earth type in the slot

Who the hell is Dorian Grant? I hope he's half as good as Davion Grant was.  ;D

Maybe he was thinking of Dorian Gray?

I actually believe Ashby is faster and "twitchier" than Kennedy was, but he was a great slot. Ashby has big play potential when he touches the ball, by making one man miss and beating guys.
He's also a guy that you could run trick plays through, considering his athletic background. He was a great shortstop in baseball and Mount baseball coaches want him too.

Doran Grant was a good CB who played at St, then OSU and I think NFL too.

Both Kmic and mcLaughlin (current rushing record holder) both played in the same number of games

Seven of those games were during the COVID season and eligibility free.  If Kmic had seven extra games, he'd probably be knocking on the door of 10k yards

Yes, but with Kmic playing in so many playoff games, I think what he was saying is they had the same number of games to reach their rushing totals.

Both played in 56 Career College FB Games (Kmic over 4 years and McLaughlin over 5).

Kmic:  1,189 Rushes, 8,074 Yards, 6.8 YPR, 125 TDs
McLaughlin:  1,250 Rushes, 8,166 Yards, 5.63 YPR, 75 TDs
