Even if true at more than one of the 60 or so, it's not typically widespread and I'd hardly expect Mount Union to do anything the same way that Thiel did.

The Flag Football team can have Dartt! I mean he is already at the Kids Table so why not move down the coaching tree as well?

With NDSU moving up to FBS, My understanding is that mount union didn't move up their football program to D2 because it would have involved all their sports moving up to d2, and Mount Union didn't want to offer athletic scholarships.

Is there anything else I'm missing?

isn't Mount dead according to you? take your goofy rage bait stuff elsewhere

Hey this one thing that doesn't apply whatsoever to the topic I am going to discuss, but I will lead with it so I have an excuse to discuss it.

"Is there anything else you are missing?" Oh boy, is there ever.

So besides the basic logistical issues of moving within a subdivision to moving entirely to a new division another huge difference here is that there's no financial incentive for Mount Union to go to D2.

With the current economics of D1 football there's plenty of reason for a school like NDSU to move up to FBS because of TV money. There's not a similar incentive for a D3 school to move up to D2. I don't think D2 football even gets materially more media coverage than D3 does.

Rick Hairston is going to be the first Women's flag football coach at Mount.  The HOF MUC alum is a former great Timken and McK basketball coach, and I thought currently at GlenOak?  He's a pretty top notch coach with lots of ties to the local Stark County high schools.  Not a bad selection

I don't see how this is anything other than positive with his experience and relationships around the county. I wonder if he'll dabble with the men's team too?

looks like another Raider in the NFL.  Geoff should fire up the Kehres family van and take a little poaching road trip over to Tiffin with KB and Kappas

edit: sounds like Ekkens is heading to the desert with the AZ Cards

another one hit wonder D3 "power" wins a title over NCC and then fades away back to Bolivian. The iron was never going to be hotter for the UWRF, he had to strike.

Despite what, if you call it that, national media that there is for D3FB, it's still Mount Union and somebody else for 9 out of every 10 years.  It's been that way for 40 years.  Just now that somebody else has owned us a bit lately, but man, are they the weakest D3FB "dynasty" of all time.

There's never been a better time for Mount to stop Dartting around and get back to what they need to be.  D3FB is way down across the board, step up Raiders

Patrick Coleman

Weakest dynasty is still a pretty decent place to be. 240 Division III schools would be happy for three national titles in the past six years.

you're right, champs are champs. crazy program accomplishment!

but there's no denying that D3FB is at a pretty low point with the portal and coaches jumping left and right. certain D3FB media has pretty much called NCC unbeatable, or the greatest team of all time...but no other "dynasty" has had such rough losses in the Stagg.

I guess at least NCC hasn't had one taken away by cheating.  Second worst dynasty
