That's a great watch.  That 2015 offense was loaded.  So much fun to watch. 

man, the COVID years, NIL and the transfer portal really did a number to high end D3 football.  Just that Mount Union team had nearly the same number of guys getting NFL shots (Lally, Namdar, Jones) as the entire division in 2026

IIRC my senior year 2012, Mount had more guys invited to mini-camps than either Akron or Kent (not combined, but one of those schools, can't remember which) I know it was at least Driskill, Diuesel and Collins, and maybe a few more

Also yeah that 2015 game was probably my favorite win of all time, so cathartic after watching us lose 5 straight against them.

Chris Denton was in camp with the Bucs as well.  Garcon, Shorts and Kyle Miller were in the league at the time as well.

Well... another D3fb podcast and another "Mount Union refused our request for an interview." I just listened to the most recent podcast and it was pretty cool to hear from other top programs... would love to hear from ours!

I'm planning to email the SID about this, and encourage any other Mount fans to do the same. It seems like the program is holding a grudge, that is directly depriving student athletes from pretty cool media opportunities, not to mention it harming the fan experience.

To be honest it also paints the program in a bad light. When every other top program is eager about talking about their upcoming season it makes us look pretty pretenious.

Anyway, I'm tired of years of this stupid grudge holding.

It's dumb and it's self-defeating.  The pool of media that wants to interview you is tiny and you're blowing off the one with (I assume) the largest reach?  Seems like juvenile thinking to me.

It's been a while, but I believe it may stem from something they were not happy about regarding Fulford so that would be VK era.  If it's what I am remembering I did not understand why Mount was mad then let alone still in 2026.

I don't know if any d3 recruits listen to the podcast, but it's such an enforced error to let all the other top tier d3 programs essentially give a nice program pitch while you don't. If I was a recruit id be like "wow the culture at north central sounds great" it just overall a bad look.

If we still had the mystique of "The Machine" I could see the angle of "we're too busy focusing on winning to do superfluous media" but when you get knocked out in round 2 of the playoffs every other year it doesn't quite work.

not to upset Pat, but I highly doubt many 17-18 year olds are listening to the D3FB podcast to make their college decision.  Winning and all the things that come with it are far more important, but you kind of referenced that in your second point

I feel like Pat and Greg have always handled that situation with class. No real commentary, just informing the audience why Mount may not be part of interviews.
