Maybe he can explain how this team is a testament?

you guys need to drop it.  How is Geoff ever supposed to sit at the adults table at Kehres family Thanksgiving?

Here's my kinda',hopefully, accurate manual perusal of the OAC incoming freshmen.  I grouped the teams intotwo tiers, 50-60 and 70 and above.

Muskies (largest) and Mount with 70 and above.
Everyone else with 50-60. Etta, Ott and Wilma closer to 50 with BW, Cap, Heidi and ONU a bit higher.

Muskie and Mount with the most states represented.  Muskie the outlier betting big on Ga with 30 kids. The Muskie recruiter with the player evaluation side hustle left recently, but brought in a big group for this year's class.

Mount and Heidi are the leading Fl recruiters.

In the individual state representation, Ohio still the biggest by far.  Florida folowed by Ga (Capital with Ga commits too), PA , Wva and Michigan represented

Moving to the big table won't be this Thanksgiving.  The start of the new football season always signals a little less than three more months til the Thanksgiving holiday and the annual sitting at the kids table. The kids are the only other ones at the meal that have never won a National Championship as the Mount Union head coach.
I heard a new folding card table and new folding chairs had to be purchased because the ones used the last five or so seasons were worn out and the underside of the table had a ton of chewed gum stuck to it that no one wanted to pull off.

watching the YSU game, there is no reason Mikey Maloney can't have the same type of season as the YSU QB...with a Mount guy at OC in Youngstown btw.  Getting pretty pumped for the Kevin Burke led Purple Raider offense

a freshman RB getting recognition in the season preview?  either we have no RB depth, or Bo Bokman is a stud.  I'll go with the latter (huge Minner fan here)

That was the thing that caught my attention

also.  They have to be pretty sure on a first-year being a contributor to name them in the preview.

Or at least ChatGPT has to be sure.

Then why didn't he pick them as #1 in the top 25!

YSU's OC is former Texas and Penn State OC, Mike Yurcich, he did not go to Mount Union.

Their QB won the FCS Heisman last year, so that's a high bar, I definitely see the potential in MM to be in Gagliardi contention for sure. I will say I was a little let down by his play against JCU, but I think it was just a really big moment for a freshman, and his WR didn't do him a lot of favors.

Maybe he doesn't think they are the #1 team preseason, but thinks they'll put it together and finish as champions?

lol

but lets hope the OAC has a banner year and gets 3 teams into the playoffs.  ONU and BW should both be playoff contenders if they can handle the Michigan teams.  BW getting Alma at home is a must win if you want to be a national program. ONU going up to Adrian and getting a W would be huuuge for the OAC.  Both the Jackets and Bears HCAC crossovers should be a breeze.  Can BW avoid their yearly loss to a mid-OAC team?

Berg beating Maryville would also be outstanding.  Etta getting Westminster and MSJ in OOC is going to be tough. Can Muskie knock off MSJ in week one?

These cheap shots at Coach Dartt upset me. His program, the football team he cares for, has 160 members. One Hundred and Sixty. Any D3 school President in the United States would faint first, then run to the nearest church to thank the Almighty if he was told 160 men and boys are enrolled at his school to participate in football. His mind would spin as he computes the math, his hands would tremble at such good news; he would announce at the next Trustees meeting Coach Geoff Dartt is indispensable to the financial health of the school. Coach Dartt does so much for my beloved Alma Mater, the University of Mount Union; I thank him every time I see him. He's the big man at the adult table because he IS the man now.

poking at Geoff is easy with the early playoff exits, nail-biting finishes at middle-tier conference opponents, questionable play calls on national TV, lack of personality, etc.  That's part of the job at the only national brand in D3 sports.  I am excited for Dartt to just be the head coach this season.  Just be the head guy and like Moses, lean on your staff.

Burke and Kappas are as polished and qualified coordinators as Mount has had in years and years.  The great Vince Kehres even seemed to struggle as the HC and DC, its a lot.  VK gave up the DC role and the Raiders took off, let's hope history repeats itself.

I love that Dartt brings in large recruiting classes, but I can't fathom a day that Mount doesn't bring in well over 100 freshmen no matter who the coach is

Maybe you should elect yourself president of the Geoff Dartt Fan Club.  Just think, you can have fan club shirts made, pins, key chains, car washes, a  banquet at the end of the season and even hold up one of those large faces you can get of Coach Dartt after every play Mount run while cheering your heart out for him.  Before each home game you can shake everyone's hand that enters through the main gate and say to them
"I'm purple, Dartt fan club president, I'm damn glad to meet you!"  I'm sure everyone that enters the stadium does not know you.  Call it a recruiting thing.
It's great to ruffle some feathers of a person like you because you take everything so seriously.  My job is done for tonight.
Good night Mrs Calabash, wherever you are.
