btw, the mad-man returning kicks and punts on Saturday is one of the WR transfers.  His athleticism popped a bit.  Watch for him in the next couple of weeks to make a splash, the offense could use a playmaker other than Ashby

If that extra point didn't get blocked, i think ya'll woulda won in OT, be a whole different season, but then to lose to a normally 4th ish place in the OAC Hberg and then this game against Marietta what a weird season

There's some old coaching addage about you should go for two if you're on the road and play for Overtime if you're at home, I was thinking the whole time they should have gone for two

Mount's kicking field goals and punting on fourth and real shorts against...Marietta.  No chance that he ever had the gumption or fortitude to ever even think about going for the win on the road @ Wheaton. "Champion the Standard"!!! Do we still say that when we're the Champion of the Lawson's Chip Dip Bowl?

Funny you should mention that, because that is the exact brand that LK serves on Thanksgiving. The ones at the kids table love it!
Coincidence?  I think not!

Definitely noticed his athletic ability compared to others.

Just a wonder here... With hearing the locker room comments, seeing the mistakes made, all of the 'almost' plays on offense and defense, is that a lack of experience and maturity? If many of the guys playing right now were on a previous team, they would be surrounded by more experienced guys bringing them along and showing them the way to get things done and that you don't just 'magically win these games' bc your jersey says Raiders. Mount won soooo many games in the past that were close bc of timely plays or people stepping up at the right time (stars and role players alike).

I still feel hopeful for these guys winning the OAC or making the playoffs, but everyone is still coming for you every single week and you can't let up.

I still don't feel that they should've lost to Wheaton, but it should be a positive feeling that they lost to Wheaton on the road by 1 and give them confidence that they can play with the best seeing what they did to NCC. Now go control what you can control.

Regardless of the current state of the Purple Raiders. Has there ever been a team with two better wins in the first 5 weeks of a season than Wheaton beating Mount Union and North Central?

Tip of the cap to them. What a cool story.

Why? Week 1 games are rarely sharp, polished affairs. Wheaton had never beaten Mount Union, they had to get over the hump which is hard to do.

Mid-season?  Damn.  Bokman is listed as the starting RB this week so I guess the writing is on the wall though with a freshman starting.

Who?

Weaver was 3rd strong last year behind  Darnell Williams and Kayden Minner.

Sorry, I was being facecious.

I wondered bc I figured you would know....too bad sarcasm font isn't available!

Hoping for a good showing against Marietta tomorrow. One step of improvement at a time each week!

Because Mount Union is still mostly playing like that not-sharp, unpolished team.

The sleepwalking in the 1st half and the 13 penalties kept Mount from defeating the current #1 team in the nation on the road.  Mount pretty much dominated the second half, but could not get out of their own way.  It's the current 2026 roller coaster that is the Purple Raiders....talented enough to play like the best team in the country, but lacking the leadership, consistency, toughness, discipline to not put up head scratching performances against mid-OAC teams

Becuase if Mount hadn't played that game, and I only saw the results of their other games I would assume they'd get blown out by any top 5 teams this year, not go toe to toe with the #1 team at their place.
